You will be just fine. Your single alternator put out around 250 amps for a single alt. I have a 110 amp alt on my old f350 7.3 diesel and never had a problem in over 20 years and still going strong.

Good video, I was curious how the 2k system works. When you had both items turned on it sounded the same as when you run a compressor on too long of an extension cord. Not sure if it's a voltage drop or what, but not good for the tool.

Remember that your 120v household breaker is set for 15 or 20 amps. You would never run both of those at the same time on the same circuit in your house or shop. You would be blowing breakers. 15 amps x 120 V = 1800 watts. You're just lucky you didn't burn up the truck. It did very well, considering what you were trying to do it. Both of those would equal 3,000 watts which you shouldn't even consider running at less that 3,500 watts converter.

Within the last two weeks one of the software upgrades has de-rated the power demand scale on my 2023 from 2000W to 1500W. I haven't investigated further yet but mine has struggled with hammer drill inrush current. I'm curious if this is a true sine wave inverter, I'd be disappointed if it wasn't. This was marketed as a 2000W inverter, the outlets in the cab are labeled for 20 Amps, 1500W is only 12.5 amps at 120V.

My inverter burned up at 4000 miles on my 2023 F250, ford dealer told me there were none in the united states to repair it. Four months later it is still on back order.

Start up watts are calculated at 3x the running watts... that's the reason it struggles to get the compressor running. If the compressor runs at 1200 watts you should have a surge rated inverter of at least 3600 watts.

With the dedicated alternator for the pro power, do you know if it's only dedicated when generator mode active but available for other accessories like your plow or maybe a winch when genrator mode off? That could be an intelligent design...

Im not positive but i believe these new trucks shut off after 30min or something like that. I dont think you could let it idle all night without modification.

yes it will in generator mode, even my 7.2kw f-150 will run, turn itself off and back on again as power is needed.

I thought the pro power onboard comes with 2 alternators, 1 at 250A and 1 24v 150A

it does, but there is no clear answer if the 2nd one (24V) is 100% dedicated to the pro power on board setup or if it's also capable of charging 12V batteries when you turn off the pro power setup.

great video, and very informative. I have inverters in my 4 trucks and would never order that option. I agree that for what Ford did they should have made it 3k watts minimum since they are trying to eliminate needing a gas generator Who wants a truck with 4 batteries?

Starting the compressor is usually nominal 1500 watts but running is usually less. So your 1100 is probably close.

Ford says that you have 1600 watts for the box outlets and 400 for the interior outlets for a total of 2000 watts. Poor design for true usefulness
