The change was more made to stop someone like the Soviets or Americans from building like 6 of each facility so they could bumrush projects. The halved breakthrough progress of a 2nd facility is still helpful, but more importantly, it lets you research two projects in parallel (provided you have the breakthroughs to do so), and if one facility is busy with a project, the second one will contribute the full .10% breakthrough progess instead of half. So again, not as good as it used to be, but a 2nd facility isn't useless.

The strikes have a chance to occur per tick/month/dunno? until 1st jan 1938. They won’t occur while Matignon agreements are in effect. Definitely prefer right side, think they can still happen though if your stability is too low.

Of the new wonder weapons, France seems to be able to get Jet Fighters earliest, since it can boost 1940 FTR with only two focuses that aren't gated by anything. I managed to have about 200 out by Christmas 39 but it was late 1940 before I had enough of them (and enough air doctrine) to start causing real harm to the Luftwaffe

quick tip for fortress france, the ai doesnt like to attack a fort higher than lvl 7 with more than 1 division on it. you can abuse this however you please

I like to keep my forts at a maximum of lvl 5 Plus grand battle plan, a river and terrain bonus here and there, and unless they bring a Schwerer Gustav or a nuke, nothing gets past while also they grind their manpower into nothing

like other said, you got the strike event because you revoked the matignon agreement. folowing huge strikes early 1936, it garantize workers right, such as the right to unionize or be on strike, signed the 7 june 1936. later the 21 was sign the creation of "convention colective" and of paid vacation day, and the 40h work week. it is a big deal still nowday, and mark a big victory for the french left.

2:49 I actually did this once when I was new to the game like over 2 years ago, Germany is weak early on so it’s actually the easiest way to get the little entente achievement (have you or even an ally iirc in your faction control all German states after doing the Little Entente focus), just reset in case Germany backs down

Even if the Germans made it through the heavily reinforced Swiss Alps, by the time they had achieved that, the French would have been able to extend their fortifications to cover the Swiss border. The real answer is they would have just turned to trying to bomb the hell out of it.

The game has events for whenever you stability (or war support) are below 50%. Strikes occur when the stability is below 50%. Mutinies in the Army occur when the war support is below 50%. So keep an eye on these two.

I just calculated the death ratio between France verses the Axis by the numbers at the end of the video, and if I'm not mistaken, for every one Frenchmen died , 142 men died on the axis side. What a number..

You can actuelly stop the factories strike by forming the popular front and then signing the Matignon agrements. It gives s debuff to factory output but it's much less than the strikes and especially the widespread strikes. Also you can offset that debuff by removing inefficient economy when you go down the docialist path

7:30 You can always add a new research bonus to an already researched tech, even if all of your slots are occupied. Just switch what technology is being done by the research slot to, idk, radio research, and then go back to researching fortification engineering technology.

At 3:00 i always rally to war when im playing france because the british 90% of the time back you up, and when they do Germany backs down usually (if they dont back you up then you can back down without any consequences)

So... this is kinda funny becuase I literally (as Germany) Punched through the maginot line my last play through. I did a non-historical play through and what happened was Great Britian lead an invasion of Belgium, Belguim asked me for help, I sent them 3 divisions to spite Britian (which I had aleady fought 3 other battles with and won each one.) And Belgium became my ally, but they wouldn't let me send units through to attack france, but France attacked me through the Maginot, so I just launched a counter attack, and it never really stopped. My primary focus was not getting yeeted by the USSR. After stabalizing the eastern front, I go to check the western front and my units are half way to Paris. I didn't even think it possible. And the French were Communist.

Almost always, ai won't attack forts above level 5, so if you want to dry their manpower don't level up after 5 or 4, and your units will earn more experience.

If you get rid of Malignon agreements before 1938 you get strikes. The political instability debuff disappears once you hit 70% stability. Worker shortages happen after picking extended conscription unless you either get "Foreign Guest Workers" or "Encourage Immigration" focuses.

A tip for the future- don't remove Matignon Agreement before January 1st 1938, otherwise you're gonna get a massive strike for a year (like you did in the video) If you just waited 3 months you would've been fine. Another thing is- you will automatically lose "political violence" national spirit (it can cause several very bad events if you do certain focuses while having it) when you get to 70% stability- which is good, means you don't actually have to do that one national focus. HOWEVER- if you then go below 50%, you will get political violence back. So, for example- if you get to 70% stability with Matignon Agreement, and then remove it an get hit by strikes because you removed it too early, you will immediately go from 70% stability to 50%, so not only do you get no military production and no economic law upgrades (or maybe even having to go down from partial to early mob to not get slapped by another strike) for a year, you can also accidentally catch a stray bullet, in the form of a negative event for completing a national focus, which would've been fine you still had 70% stability.

Meh, with all those DLCs, things have turned way too easy for France. Against AI you can really do whatever you want and win, without building any fort. Mass light tanks? yup, that'll crush Germany by 41. Basic infantry and mass planes? Sure, visiting Berlin by 43. Building EVERYTHING? the army you'll end up with will still hold the front. etc etc... I miss the days when if I refused to build forts, I could mess up my defense and end up with Germany piercing, which would in the worst cases lead to a slow grinding retreat, grinding german forces at each river, stopping with my last stand on a frontline from Bordeaux to Lyon, finally having exhausted the german forces, then starting my counteroffensive (but usually by then the US joins the war and takes all the glory of the counterattack).

Most of France issue came from bad planning and bad HQ decision, wich a player should fix. Despite this France as no political power for a very long time and is plagued with maluses while having less reasearch than fuckin Italy (3 research slot for a major... why?), has less tanks that it should and struggle with manpower but at least this part is historical. IRL France could have invaded germany in 1936 when they tried to remilitarize and the nazis could have done nothing against, the French could have walked till berlin if they so wished. Meanwhile in game trying to do that is a coin toss and somehow start a civil war most of the time.
