So thankful y'all are on this side of the heart attack well and jovial. My dad had several medical issues when I was a child (accidents, 7 kidney stones, ruptured appendix....) One of his kidney stones was while we were camping 4+ hours from our home. My mom was a nervous wreck driving the truck and rather small camper. I vowed to myself (about 11 years old) that I would always know how to drive a rig. Thankfully I had already been driving tractors on the farm and learned how to back all the equipment before I moved off the farm at 20. My Husband loves that I know how to tow out rig, especially if something were to happen. We have discussed the what ifs for both of us. We too are in our mid 50's, enjoying life camping and golfing. Hopefully soon full-time.

It is great that you can drive the rig and you vowed to do so at such an early age. I would love to drive but only have one eye that works and my depth perception leaves quite a bit to be desired. If not for that, I would learn to drive it. Exciting that you are going full-time soon! It is such a wonderful lifestyle!!

Glad Richard is doing so well. Your experience is truly food for thought and consideration for if the unthinkable happens.

Thank you, Dwane! It's good to know that the unthinkable can be survived, too.

So frightening!! My husband was in Florida while I was in another state visiting family, calling me at 1 am to say he was having a funny feeling in his chest. I told him to hang up and call 911 he's having a heart attack. He was so stubborn that he called his cousin that lived close by. He was sitting on a curb (he had gone down 11 floors on an elevator), she got him to the hospital and his heart stopped twice. Fortunately he was air lifted to a heart hospital. I took the very first flight to him. He survived it all but it's important guys to not poo poo these events especially with heart/left arm/burning chest. He said he didn't want to be embarrassed if it wasn't anything. It almost killed him. So glad you are OK, thank you for sharing your episode on this topic! Saving lives by sharing

I am sorry to hear you went through a similar situation. It's so scary when it is happening and I am glad you told your story here for others to read. When it come to the heart, there is no embarrassment and you can't be too careful. I am very glad he got the treatment he needed as soon as he did.

So glad you are doing well after your scary experience. A healthy diet can make a world of difference. If you haven’t been bombarded with too many suggestions including books and newsletters let me know if you would like to read how nutrition can reverse heart disease. Take care of yourself.

Thank you!! That's the crazy thing, we've been eating a healthy diet for years. We make 99% of what we eat, whole foods, no processed foods. We even make all our own salad dressings, sauces, etc. It's really a crapshoot as I've seen stories of many others who eat healthy and are active and still they have heart issues. Not going to start eating Cheetos and Coke any time soon but still, I don't know if there is any way to prevent it if your genetics say otherwise.

You are on the best diet. No processed foods, condiments, salad dressings home made, fresh whole food plant base menu. I am on a similar die. I wish you a recovery that is fast and you end up with a stronger heart. Best wishes to you and your wife.

Thanks so much! It was a scary time and he back 100% now. We are doing more cooking videos and less RV lifestyle videos so the algorithm is reflecting that. Hope to see you on the road! Will you be in Hershey?

@@gfexplorers Yes, we will be at Hershey and Tampa shows. We joined Thousand Trails so hopefully we can keep unnecessary RV parks fees to a minimum. See you at Hershey!
