That Washingtonia palm regularly gets super tall. We have so many even taller specimens of it here in Saint Petersburg Fl. The trunks and the root balls wear thin on them as they get taller until finally they’re just blown over in a storm. The cabbage palms next to it don’t seem to ever get as tall and they seem to just die once they get a certain height.

@gfexplorers11 күн бұрын
Thank you for the correct usage of a superlative adjective. I would argue that since a palm tree "bigness" is only determined by it's height, either word would work in this case.
@brucecombs310811 күн бұрын
@@gfexplorersThe reason I make that nitpicky distinction is because I would actually like to have a potted palm tree that can grow to an impressive height without being too massively heavy to move indoors in the winter up here in Kentucky. I'm thinking maybe an Adonidia palm would be skinny enough to be manageable.

I just core the cabbage halves, remove the outer leaves, and use the 2mm slicing blade on my Cuisinart food processor for the cabbage, and the 3mm julienne blade for the carrots. Super fast. Then from another recipe I found a few years back I soak the cabbage (not the carrots) in a large bowl of water in the refrigerator for two hours or as much as overnight. Then I dry it in a salad spinner. This step removes a too earthy off taste in raw cabbage I find objectionable.

2 minutes in and I already know I can't eat it. I'm sure it's amazing for those who only have gluten to avoid. I looked at the full recipe after you mentioned soy and no subbing. Corn, soy, garbanzo, honey. Sigh allergies suck.
@gfexplorersАй бұрын
Living with food intolerances/allergies is not fun at all. I only have to deal with gluten and dairy, but it sounds like you have many others issues as well. I said no substitutions because I cannot guarantee the recipe will work with general substitutions. If you can tolerate dairy, sub milk powder for the soy powder. You can sub the corn starch with tapioca starch, and the garbanzo bean with fava bean, if you can tolerate that. If not, sub with sorghum. And the honey can be replace with an equivalent amount of agave nectar.

On the drive-in car wash topic, there is a new style of track system that does accept dually trucks. The track system is a big mat that doesn't require those metal rails that limit it to srw vehicles only. I have been using our local location for several months, and it works great!!! That looks Delish and really Quick and easy!! I'll have to try it cooked that way! I used to cook a Similar dish that I replicated perfectly from an Italian Restaurant i Loved. They Closed yrs later and I haven't cooked it in so many yrs! I'm trying to Recreate the Recipe. I remember it the Sauce was Cooked in a pan.. butter, Black & green olives (capers but I didn't..yuck lol).. diced tomato, garlic.. salt pepper.. probably another seasoning?. Im thinking a lil White wine. The fish was White..lightly coated in flour.. n lightly fried in olive Oil..(u could also bake).. it was served over thin pasta.. served with a small amount of Gouda.. omgosh I LOVE that Fish n Miss the Italian Restaurant! Your Video has me really wanting to Cook the Recipe Soon! I'm going to store it down while I'm thinking about it and finally figured out 99% of the Recipe! Thank you! ❤

That dish sounds amazing! Based on your description, I would say the fish was pan fried, then removed, and then the olives, tomato, garlic, etc. was lighter sautéed and them the white wine and butter were added to create the sauce. Basil, oregano, or similar herbs would be great additions, as would Tarragon. Let me know when you make it how it turned out!

Never heard of that burger, before. Sure gonna try it. My favourite olives are the black-ish kalamata. (So: 2 versions to try 😉 If you happen to come to Oklahoma City: "The Cow" is a place to go! (1st one is in Edmond. A 2nd was opened in town, later.) Their onion rings are another level!! I've come this far: the crispy onion rings from Food Wishes (Chef John) work excellent! (You'll get that potato powder in the US branded Panni. Here in Germany it's Pfanni (pan = Pfanne). That's the legit stuff!) Now I just have to find, how to properly season the batter. (work in progress) A very nice recipe for onion rings comes from: Luba from Ukraine. A homecook. Very talented! (I can send the link, if you can't find it. Just: a comment with a link would get blocked, at first.) For gluten-free dough: rice flour would be the option I wanna try. My brother and wife will arrive tomorrow. And she has to eat gluten-free, too. Glen (Glen and friends cooking) once explained, how wheat flour was replaced with rice flour in the UK, when it was a cheaper option. I'm subscribed to these channels and many more. Just added one more to that list ☺

Yes, black olives are my fav too (Victoria) and I do love just about any olive. We make GF onion rings ocasionally and typically use our Cooking Flour Blend. I am intrigued by the potato powder and will look for that and try it. The Ukraine recipe sounds great, too. Leave a link if you can.

@@gfexplorers Gladly: Lubas's cooking skills are amazing! Cooking on open fire reminds me of the early days of "cooking with Sros" from Cambodia. Fair warning about the vids from Luba: Some might define this as: "sex sells", 'cause she does not wear a bra. "Alert!" I am an old man. Looking at the cooking skills. And she nails it! Luba and her hubby (Pavlo from Ukraine) started posting long before the current invasion took place. I'm german. My wife was US american. Not subscribed to look @ her boobs. This girl has some serious skills! I almost feel ashmed to write this, beforehand. In 2024. But I feel it's urgent, in this twisted world. Here is the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZ6soGeajZeoeZI

A lot of ideas for me to implement in my recipes. Thanks! I'm most times making mayo from scratch: in a small and tall vessel, you crack in one egg. (1 yolk will emulsify between 100 to 200ml of oil). Add 1 tbsp of mustard, each a pinch of sugar and salt. About 2 tbsp of lemon juice. Add your neutral oil (sunflower-, canola-,...). The oil will float taop. Put your immersion blender to the bottom. Blitz for at least 30sec, before carefully lifting the blender up until all the oil is incorporated. (I like a really thick consistence.) SEASON TO TASTE! Add roughly chopped garlic from the start: your aioli! Substitute lemon juice with lime juice, or sherry, or port...: your version. Substitute parts of or all of the oil with peanut oil: you'll have a differnt product, that I've never seen at any store. Kewpie mayonaise uses only yolks. And dashi in addition. Rather no really acidic condiments. Just my 2 cents. Greetings from the far north of Germany!

Interesting video. Am going through a similar situation however I decided that safety was a big factor. I also live in Colorado and going down hills is the big issue when pulling 18,000 lbs behind you. That is why i choose a Ram 3500 dually with air suspension. Ram has the best exhaust brake. Ford will get you the hill first and down first. You never have to touch the breaks on the Ram but at least 9 plus times on the Ford on the tunnel.
