Any comments and feed back are greatly appreciated
Thanks

Talk to your Fusion Sales Person, the should be able to give you another Trial for this purpose.

Can't help you there, I use mastercam only 3d stuff and fusion for cad. Our hrt as been off the machine needed table space, now looking forward to reinstalling it.

Master cam looks good but very very expensive in comparison The vf3 is much better for the 4th axis as it still leaves a nice amount of table travel free Thanks Marc

I would need to see your program. If the tool can fit there is not obvious issue, fusion can do that for sure. That seams like some other issue may be happening.

You are correct The issue of missing the corners was actually because of an error in an earlier machining op from the other side that I didn’t pick up on until this side was done Thanks Marc

@@kinzy_fabrications Ahh those small details get me all the time. Keep going cool stuff for sure. Best Matt

You should be able to do what your describing by forcing 4 axis only and using the flow tool path. However, I would just break up your operation into a few different ops and change the angle of the part for each section. For these types of ops, I usually split the surface up so it doesn't get confused. also a lollipop endmill with a smaller shank/bigger head can help too. Just be careful it doesn't crash.

You can't do it easily without dwo which the older haas machines don't have. The cam software can write code any which way you want, but it would have to accurately reflect the physical state of the machine. I'd just use it as a 3+1 setup to avoid the headaches.

Yes I think you are correct Someone has shown me the flow tool path that will do what I want using the multi axis extension but if I want to I can achieve what I want without it and the material I thought I couldn’t get to was actually gouged material from the op doing the other side so I have now corrected that Thanks Marc

We have Mastercam with 'Port Expert'... would peel that out with about 3 minutes of programming, and would take around 4-5 minutes to finish each port. Unfortunately the price of both Mastercam and the Port Expert add-on was more than my car (its a reasonably nice car). Recently did a trial of Fusion 360 to see if they had anything close just as a curiosity, and the result was there was nothing that would do it easily. You could try a 3 axis surfacing tool path with the "tilt to avoid" option (or the fusion 360 equivalent)... provided there were no undercuts, might get you close.

I looked into port expert for my shop not too long ago......I decided to stick with the standard port path haha

Port Expert is actually a ModuleWorks software component that inefficient, legacy code, Mastercam licenses. Expect ModuleWorks port toolpath to eventually either be licensed by Autodesk for Fusion 360 CAM or something similar developed by the Delcam people in the UK. Delcam was purchased by Autodesk years ago. Presently, Fusion 360 CAM is incorporating most of the ModuleWorks component toolpaths into Fusion 360 CAM but not using the horrible, free, User Interface that ModuleWorks provides to their customers and Mastercam uses. Instead, Fusion 360 fully incorporates ModuleWorks toolpaths into its existing User Interface.

Hi Yeah I’ve seen that some of the other cad cam suppliers have better options but way way out of my price range unfortunately Somebody has shown me an option in multi axis in fusion with the flow tool path so that’s an option But it turns out the material left in the ports was actually from a machining tool path error I had made in OP1 from the other side so I think I have corrected that now Thanks Marc

Get a real cadcam, not some amateur fusion 360.
