It's a little more complicated than that. It's not uncommon for victims of abuse (especially children) to resort to lying in order to protect themselves because abusers will often threaten their victims into silence, which JJ has done to Frankie. Also, given that her allegation against Jack turned out to be false and has now lied about Lucas, there's a chance that she won't be believed when she tells the truth about JJ. Telling the truth is easier said than done in Frankie's case.

Bro at this rate no one is going to believe her when she actually tells the truth. I get that she’s struggling with trauma but if you don’t tell anyone you will never get the help you need. Please stop saying this storyline is dragging. Seriously, it is not. How would really victims feel if this storyline ended after a couple of months? Its showing how hard it is to speak up on the victim POV. Scared what it will do the the family, will they be believed. If they will have to go to court and relived the ordeal. Its showing on the abusers side what they do to the victims isolating them from friends and family hoping no one believes the victim buying them gifts and so on. Been the well behaved person no one will suspect. This needs to be shown.

At first I didn’t understand why Frankie lied all the time and blaming the wrong people for stuff but now it is clear, she not only is terrified of JJ but if she was to tell the truth now then no one would believe her cause JJ is her twin and they would obviously believe him cause of everything anyway, not right that Lucas got thrown under the bus for JJ, JJ has to be caught and stopped at once, just don’t want this to drag on for too long.

It's so twisted, Frankie is lying to her dad Darren, all this time it was her brother JJ, and the twisted games that he does to her, with the "remember the school disco?", when really JJ sexually assaulted his sister Frankie, and that Frankie is scared to tell the truth about what happened to her and her brother JJ, to her dad or therapist, she should've told someone the truth instead of bottling it all in. I can tell that Frankie is scared, I can see it in her eyes.
