Knowing what we do now about the unused zones in Sonic the Hedgehog 02 (MD), it would be welcoming to revisit the game proper once we have everything we need to fully recreate the original Time Travel plot direction of the project: Although Long Version and Sonic 02 Delta have done their best to bring in Secret Jungle (Wood Zone), Sand Shower, Rock World (Winter Hill), Genocide City, Hidden Palace '92, and The Last Battle in Space (Death Egg '92's unused Platforming Acts), it is presently Sonic the Hedgehog 02: Archives that will probably be what will deliver to us a proper experience close to those zones' original vision alongside Ocean Wind, Tropical Sun, Blue Lake, Madness Mountain (Alternate Dust Hill/Mystic Cave?), Olympus, Cyber City, and the Warp Point; the fact that there is about 054% of the original zone set missing from the Retail Build truly shows how much Sega Technical Institute was cut short for time and I simply wonder how much this would've cost to put on a One Megabyte cartridge for the era, this is a subject that is always nice to come back to and having played the ROM hacks since 2007 truly has made it fun whenever the new unearthings make themselves known to subsequently be implemented in future projects. Metropolis IS the worst zone in all of 2D Sonic. And just to tease you, it’s the only level in the game with 3 acts
