My go to was similar but I used my quilava to spam ember till it got the burn then set up leech seed with my skip loom and brought in geodude (male so attract was annoying but that's why burn and leech seed were there), the rollout combined with the burn and leech seed effectively countered the milk drink spam since it got brought down to 3 hp on the final move and burn finished it off.

Yeah, well, in Gen 1, the fire type starter was considered the "hard mode" for Pokemon, as the first two gyms were pretty rough on it and there weren't many gyms that Charmander was good against. In Gen 2, it was changed around to Grass being the "hard mode." So, if you picked the grass type in Gen 1, you'd have a much easier time of it than if you picked the grass type in Gen 2.

So the challenge starts after Bugsy if you get lucky and get either Pichu or Elekid in the egg
@skeetermania3202
@skeetermania3202 3 жыл бұрын
@@SilphSpectre Fortunately, you could do that in HGSS since Mareep is available before the first gym. However, that’s all you’re going to have up until the fourth gym unless you resort to the Pokéwalker (Elekid is available at the cost of 500 watts and 5000+ steps). For every 20 steps, 1 watt is earned. Discounting extraneous ones your Pokémon could find, every 5000 steps you take, you’ll earn 250 watts, meaning you may have to walk at least 10000 steps for this to be possible. Speaking of which, if you do do such a run, make it your first run of a Johto game that actually does Kanto. From there, the options open up (Pikachu in Viridian Forest, Plusle and Minun through Hoenn Sound, and Shinx with Sinnoh Sound). On the other side of the coin, have you ever planned to do HNs in Gen 6 or later?

13:52 : over easy, but before I flip it I put some cheese and a slice of ham over it. The ham gets nice and seared, the cheese gets melty and crispy on the edges; and the yolk stays runny while the white is all cooked. nice one, love your hardcore nuzlocke videos ^^ you should also count the amount of resets it took you to get to certain points, e.g. won gym battles and write it next to your death count ^^ i´m sure it would be pretty interesting to see it all time

Okay, that was amazing. Grass type playthroughs (Nuzlocke or otherwise) are for sure the hardest in these games. Very entertaining! I've done Mono Bug in Crystal (non-Nuzlocke) but my game save got deleted before I could sweep Lance with Shuckle. ;_; Perhaps I'll try again in a Nuzlocke form.

Love to see that I'm not the only one who loves the Grass Type and thinks that Jumpluff especially is underrated. I love its design and even though it's stall-y, it can be SUPER good in runs!

Before I start watching this, I recently finished a grass type only challenge of crystal myself. I whited out *many* times; like I had to be over leveled just to beat Falkner. And I wasn’t even doing a nuzlocke. Excited to see how you manage to pull this off

When fighting Gengar in Mahogany gym, let him hypnosis someone and switch to someone else, then switch back to the asleep one, and so on. He will Hypnosis -> Dream Eater ->Hypnosis until he runs out of PP. It works 100% of the time. PP stalling make that gym winnable with every team. Hope it helps for future Johto playthrough!

Wish I knew this, got destroyed on my first attempt but on the second one my Kadabra managed to sweep the gengar (Gengar is part poison) after it missed Hypnosis

Nuzlocke runs are never easy, with the level of difficulty going up exponentially in a run with grass types only. When I looked at the length of the video, I thought Lance's Charizard was the end of it. Nope, the team pulled it off against unimaginable odds. Amazing stuff, Silph.
