Yeah, well, in Gen 1, the fire type starter was considered the "hard mode" for Pokemon, as the first two gyms were pretty rough on it and there weren't many gyms that Charmander was good against. In Gen 2, it was changed around to Grass being the "hard mode." So, if you picked the grass type in Gen 1, you'd have a much easier time of it than if you picked the grass type in Gen 2.

@skeetermania32023 жыл бұрын
@@SilphSpectre Fortunately, you could do that in HGSS since Mareep is available before the first gym. However, that’s all you’re going to have up until the fourth gym unless you resort to the Pokéwalker (Elekid is available at the cost of 500 watts and 5000+ steps). For every 20 steps, 1 watt is earned. Discounting extraneous ones your Pokémon could find, every 5000 steps you take, you’ll earn 250 watts, meaning you may have to walk at least 10000 steps for this to be possible. Speaking of which, if you do do such a run, make it your first run of a Johto game that actually does Kanto. From there, the options open up (Pikachu in Viridian Forest, Plusle and Minun through Hoenn Sound, and Shinx with Sinnoh Sound). On the other side of the coin, have you ever planned to do HNs in Gen 6 or later?

Nuzlocke runs are never easy, with the level of difficulty going up exponentially in a run with grass types only. When I looked at the length of the video, I thought Lance's Charizard was the end of it. Nope, the team pulled it off against unimaginable odds. Amazing stuff, Silph.
