I had to grind til it was a Scolipede to beat the fire trial since they’d spam fire moves. It was so fun. I replaced Popplio since Hau would have Incineroar. I’m doing ORAS with Dragon types next.

All you need is a typhlosion with return, earthquake, thunderpunch and flamethrower in the original gen2 games to sweep the whole game.

man when thunderpunch was typhlosion's best move in gen 2 cuz that meant it only had 2 weaknesses and feraligatr basically would have only one with ice punch- i'm still sad the elemental punch tms were removed from gen 4's johto games

All I said was with those moves and at a minimum a LVL60 typhlosion you could sweep the game, with typhlosion holding a leftovers in the original GEN2 games. P.S and he wouldnt necessarily be RIP. Even if you exclude leftovers, the use of healing items after a battle is allowed. So with the right luck, you probably could do it even with a non over leveled Typhlosion.

@@tonpalacios2964 ah, if i remember it was.. battle frontier i think you could get the elemental punches? gens 1 and 2 were wild with.. how the exp system was "stat exp" where you.. basically just need to fight the strongest "stat giving" pokemon like gen 2, you mostly wanted to fight unown til.. at least level 24 with your starter. its actually pretty interesting, tho i'm.. legitimately not sure how any.. perfect stat mons in the gen 2 games work when transferred to a different game(like natures and stuff) but i don't really worry about that(as pokebank is kinda a scam if you don't have specific games)

The Bugsy fight gave me flashbacks to mine. I was doing a normal run and I was using my Quilava (Smoker) to take out Scyther. It got 3 crit Quick Attacks in a row. I did heal between attacks to live but what in the world are those odds??

Okay. I'm running through this challenge myself now, and the fight with Clair is absolutely BRUTAL. The calcs put the win percentage about 10 percent, same with Solarbeam on Magmar, and the only other useful strat is sun-boosted Blast Burn with Choice Specs and/or Blaze. A crit or a miss with Kingdra is basically required to not lose out and get swept. I did manage to get the crit, and from there it's relatively easy, but I have to hand it to Silph's luck and setup, Light Screen was crucial.

This is why I LOVE magcargo! It is a beast, an absolute beast! Damn, what a run though, it was insane as it was a delight to watch! That aerodactyl fight was amazing, to have it miss that move twice is.. truly unlikely to happen LOL! Take it from me, with more than 500 attempts just against that nightmare of a pokemon. I am curious, I know Natural gift isn't the best move, but I imagine it could've landed a hand against Gyarados! :)
