I did a normal type hardcore Nezlock in Pokemon shield... I only made past the fairy gym... There is oddly enough (at least with my luck) not that many good readily available normal types early, and yet there kind of is, there's just not enough readily available coverage for them... Especially for the grass gym, at least from my experience? Freaking lost most of my team besides I think only my Skovet to the grass gym, me god that Conttenee be tanky when ya only have like one super effective move against it... On only one party member. I may try again in the future, but idk Edit: I wasn't able to get hoothoot or noctowl until I beated the water gym cuz I got a different encounter... Having two normal and flying types would have been helpful in the grass gym😅 Edit: also I had Hop choose scrobunny.... Which along with his Wooloo learns double kick.... Pain... All I have learned from my first, not just hardcore Nezlock, but my first actually Nezlock in general... Is pain... I all learned was pain😅 Edit: I also didn't use raid dens, except for getting items... I couldn't catch anything from them... But to be fair the only normal type I found in any of them was evee... Sooooooo Edit( final one hopefully): I did allow myself to use the dlc areas... But that was after I was down to one pokemon, if I gotten far enough to attempt not getting my team sweep from the battle at the start of the crown tundra (which I would have considered a loss for the run if all me mons died), I would, like with the Isle of armor, would have only used it in emergencies... I wouldn't allow myself to catch/use anything from the max raid den adventures though😅

I think it'd be interesting to see a challenge using only Pokemon of a body type. Gen IV onwards has assigned each Pokemon a 'shape' (different from an egg group), based on appearance. Many pokemon change body types as they evolve, for example Mudkip is 'quadrupedal' but Marshtomp is 'bipedal w/ tail', so you wouldn't be allowed to evolve it in a quadruped-only run. I tried this on Emerald and it was a fun challenge. It restricts the number of encounters almost as much as a monotype game, but has a different set of difficulties. I think this could make for an interesting themed nuzlocke team.

I feel like skuntank is looked down on a ton while a nuzlock is exactly what it needs to shine having such an early access to poison gas and toxic. Sadly I'm not sure a dark type nuzlock would be possible due to when you get you're first dark type

This is kinda irrelevant but the fact that only truly _flying_ Pokémon are centralized in the Team below the gameplay and the others are a little lower as they are either incapable of true flight or just decide not to is a very nice touch.

I am glad I always am looking on KZbin about stuff… This KZbinr did this catch ‘em all for Sword (started playing only after the games been out for some time for reasons..) and in it, learned of Charmander (evolution if not early game) ciould be found in a den- ditto too, at the same den. Personally I loved pokemon sword and shield. The gyms were a great spectacle, the region was a fantastic representation of british culture and its probably got one of the most deep and inspired dexes of new pokemon we've ever got, mostly with incredible designs. The music was the best in the series with great cohesion and leitmotifs. I loved the dlc and the characters were really fun (and well designed too). Had obvious problems, but i think that it hit it where it counts: the pokemon themselves.

Perfection as usual Silph, as someone who has done wayyy too many SwSh locked I like how much you did that I do regularly, legit have that choice scarf quest to a science at this point. I will make a recommendation for Kabu btw if you ever do another run here specifically for a Fire run, get the fire stone in the wild area and get a Vulpix before the first gym because the move relearner if you evolve it will get you nasty plot flamethrower and extrasensory, this also guarantees a sizzlipede if you avoid every rolycoly on the route before the mine and catch the Carkol in said mine you can guarantee you get a sizzilipede on the route before the mine AND this means you are guaranteed a Litwick in the fire gym which is the most optimal path imo so it’s a very good start if you ever do a fire run of this, idk if you ever would but maybe this could help someone else idk.

I liked SwSh the games felt rushed but had some good things I love the new items, the character are charming and memorable, however the story has a weird pace. The Pokedex this generation is solid, despise the cut Pokemon. I don't hate this gen, it just felt like good ideas rushed. Now, Good job on this one Silph, flying is such a cool typing, they have a lot of good mons and a wide range of second types that makes team composition easier. I was surprised seeing how hard was to dealt with electric mons using only the flying types in the pokedex.
