The Kos Parasite is a great weapon if you're already playing a 99 arcane build. If you aren't, skip it, and also if you are you should probably be doing so because you want to wreck face with spells. (You think the big numbers are going to come from Call Beyond, but Executioner's Gloves are the real killers most of the time. Chain backstabbing with Augur of Ebrietas is delightful though.)

​@@SparkSovereign kos parasite isn't even that good for arcane builds (it's my favourite weapon i'm not hating on it), it can achieve some ridiculous numbers with perfect gems but the moveset isn't well suited for pve and it's slow enough that even with those gems the damage feels underwhelming. you use it for style points and when you're playing badly you pull out your holy blade to do some actual damage lol

@@aldrichunfaithful3589 yeah, it's hardly a giant step up from Ludwig's holy blade, which is always good (as per usual). I found its weird moveset actually very helpful for chalice dungeons, where the nova in particular really shines, but it's not exactly a great boss killer. (Fortunately, executioner's gloves are, especially at the 99 arcane you'll be at if you're seriously considering Kos parasite.) Another unfortunate downside is that Ludwig + flamesprayer is comically good at 99 arcane if you know how to use bone marrow ash well, whereas the kos parasite basically just takes an offhand for passive gem effects. I was a lot more fond of it back before I discovered the true joy of offhand weapons.

​@@SparkSovereign speaking of offhand weapons i feel like bloodtinge invalidates arcane completely tbh, i'm sure that's a hot take but i just don't see the benefit to using arcane and whenever i play these builds i tend to struggle with arcane while bloodtinge feels like a cheese strat. evelyn by itself is enough to trivialise the entire game in my experience, and on top of that you have access to chikage for insane dps, bloodletter for the god tier moveset with how stupidly fast it is for its size, then there's the reiterpallasch bma build which is by far the most broken way to play the game. arcane builds are fun but they can't compete at all

Right now my favorite weapons are the saw cleaver and the tonitrus, I also love using the guns tbh. Parrying + viscerals are super satisfying. The whirligig saw also looks fun to use

The Kos parasite is specifically a NG+ only weapon that rewards people who dive into the chalice dungeon to gather specific Gems to make the parasite one of the strongest weapons in the game, same gems work with moonlight sword making it tie for strongest in game! But you have to chalice dive and RNG farm the gems making it basically NG++ and beyond weapon! Did this my self is how I know!

The weapon I think of whenever a question like "which one is your favourite?" is brought up is the Stake Driver. I'd probably like one of the other ones more, if I had more time with the game to figure them out (wish I was allowed to BUY AND PLAY IT, - S O N Y -), but it's definitely one of my favourites across all of the Soulsborneringfieldtwice games. It's like a specific reward for figuring out the timings of an enemy's moveset, you get to Heat Action something and for massive damage. Really takes advantage of the mechanical element of trick weapons.

Simons bow blade is really good in some situations but not for back stabs. It hits twice so it knocks them out of the reposte. They will go down on the first hit and then knocked out of it on the second. So to get them consistently while un-tricked you basically have to do what you accidentally did and miss the first hit. That being said, the arrows will back stab properly if you manage to hit their back with a ranged charge shot.

my favourite weapon moveset is kos parasite but i think the beast claw is the most interesting weapon to actually do a run with, normally beast blood is something you use exclusively for difficult boss fights so it's a very unique experience to have it permanently. for bosses the beast claw is sh*t since it has pretty low dps (assuming you've got beast blood pellets active anyway), but when you're making your way through areas it rewards you for killing everything and incentivises doing it quickly, so aggressively tearing through enemies (as god intended) becomes the optimal strategy

Cheesing Micolash with the bowblade can be done by getting him to his final teleport, but you attack down from the top of the stairway instead of the balcony. That gives you enough distance with the correct angle to pelt him with arrows, and all he will do is disappear and reappear from that same mirror teleport. Whether you can have enough blood bullets to kill him is another story.

For the record, I randomly found during a playthrough that when Logarius does his flying swoop attack u can actually gun parry him during the attack animation. Works very nice for finishing him quick towards the end of the fight

@@PressContinue Tier lists in these games are kinda scuffed anyway. With some of these weapons being only available in the DLC or even in NG+ they're kind of useless. Saw Cleaver is S-Tier because you start with it and its good enough for the entire game. You'd have to test every weapon in NG+ or cheat them in once the unofficial PC version is out. Maybe then it would make sense, but currently there is just no point.

⁠@@jhsjdytk The parasite has the worst dps in the game whilst also being one of the slowest. The only move actually worth talking about is the nova. Everything else is pretty underwhelming if just about useable. If it wasn’t for the boom hammer I’d say it’s clearly the worst weapon in the game. Chikage has one of the worst move sets, drains your health and has high stamina cost but has the highest dps in the entire game. If you want to have a better moveset without the blood sword you need to level completely different stats as they scale completely diffrently. It’s still probably a b tier weapon just for the dps and rapid poison.

I like your observation that the Great Ones are representative of human anatomy. Id say that Ebrietas is representative of the whole resporatory system and not just the trachea though. And that Orphan also represents the placenta, which is literally his weapon. The only wrinkle here is Mergo and the Wetnurse. Im really not sure what a winged, cloaked, multi-armed, curved blade wielding, invisible creature is supposed to represent. Its long stretchy arms sort of remind me of tendons, but that really is a bit of a stretch... ha...

Favorite weapon? Really depends on the build. I start with the Cane most of the time, or the Axe if I'm feeling frisky, and those are my mains for pretty much the whole game. Never the cleaver, if I really need a serrated weapon I'll grab the Saw Spear because the cleaver is boring and the spear is just better. For my secondary I'll grab the Pick, the Parasite, or the Bowblade depending on what build I'm using. The Parasite is hilarious in pvp, people either don't know how to fight it or are super aggressive trying to kill me as fast as possible lol. You know, I've been playing this game on and off for a good 8 years, and I don't think I've used Beast Blood Pellets in any playthrough?

Use either Pest Threads (if playing as a faith build) or Shard Spiral (if playing as an intelligence build) to melt the Ulcerated Tree Spirit because those two spells rip through large enemy due to the fact they do continuous damage while moving through the enemies body.

I would name 3 Weapons as Favourites. The Saw Spear who served as my main weapon through my first playthrough, of course you can't leave out the Guiding Moonlight but right now it's the Church Pick. Fav weapon is 100% the stake driver, people only see it and try to use the big haha boom attack which is fair, it isn’t really too complex, but the PvP potential with the charged R2 having a variable timing is really fun and can mess with some people. Pairing it up with Lead Elixir is really fun too!

Pizzacutter is good for bullying Maria, as long as you have the stamina. Just get her into a corner or along the wall and use the L2 transformation attack to keep her trapped. She really can't do much once you start that.
