Resistance is a stat. That is about it. Also the issue with Tartarus Demon is his feet have hit boxes that cause small damage waves making dodging weird.

@@DoomWolfOfficialthe best guess I can give you is that it the small damage boxes that occur is to prevent you from getting stuck underneath him or being forced under the terrain. They have just enough knock back to prevent that.

It's mainly also a lingering hitbox. His downward strike has a lingering hitbox and so does his extended overhead slam. Wait a little after he attacks before aproaching. Sadlyy, this is objectively jank. Ds1 is still best souls imo, but just gotta be aware of this. If only the game had a remaster that could fix such things!

@@DoomWolfOfficial My guess would be that Resistance was supposed to be a more important stat and got toned down. Maybe in some state of the game levelling up other stats did not increase your non poison and non bleed resistances and only resistance did that. but that ended up not being good for the game but they didn't cut resistance entirely.

At 3:09, for a split second you can see the bandit enter a falling animation due to dark souls scuff, and because you were next to him, the damage you took was due to him falling on top of you! Thank you dark souls, very cool. Also I never really explored the dlc at all other than the bosses, so thanks for putting in the bit about the blue titanite slab, I never knew that before!

To explain resistance in DS1: Whether casual or pvp, it’s a dump stat. Leveling up any other stat increases your resistances/defenses to physical attack by 1 point while resistance increases by 2-4 The thing is there is a hard cap that will not increase your defenses more without putting armor or ring You will reach that cap leveling up anything else aka straw that matter to you You will reach that cap leveling up even just one other stat

2:45 The Taurus demon’s hit boxes are broken :) I watched a video showing how janky his (and a few other bosses) hit boxes are veryyyy broken and questionable. The “shock wave” after his hammer hits is actually delayed… so when you think you’ve dodged it… you haven’t. It’s very interesting!

Fun Fact: I’m nearly 100% sure the Gargoyles inspired 1-4 (Cerberus Boss Fight) in ULTRAKILL. They’re both giant enemies made out of stone that emerge from the nearby area to combat the player. Once Cerberus goes down to about half health, a second appears, at half health too. Once they’re both down, the player progresses, leaving the area behind to a new one. Has no one else seen this??

I'd say it's more of a coincidence. In Ultrakill, I see the boss fight as a way to teach the player how cerberi work, since they become quite common as normal enemies afterwards. You can't say the same about the Gargoyles since you will only meet one (or two, I don't really remember) solo non boss Gargoyle.

Regarding Sif, I always wished that Artorias in the DLC would drop the ring as well, giving you the option to spare Sif. But at the end of the day, this is Dark Souls. Happy endings do not exist!

3:20 That's nothing like a DS2 hitbox because it's actually good and pretty clean. I think the reason it missed is because; a) you were slightly hunched over from your attack animation; and b) because you were very close to the boss and that attack is meant to punish you at mid-range. If it were a bad hitbox (like in DS2) it would've hit you when you weren't even near it.

Fair, someone else did mention that the thing I did was a technique used by no hit/roll/block runners where basically with perfect spacing and timing the hit box gets shifted to avoid damage

Resistance also gives an extra boost to base defence. I have tried playing as a Havel hard tack, and it was kinda fun basically healing my way through Lordran.
