Fun fact: did you know that Havel is (or was, cuz any of the havel-knights we kill could have been the real havel, but may not be) a BISHOP? Yeah, the magic barrier/great magic barrier miracles are attributed to him as his creations and sort of signature spells. Havel is a Faith/Strength build.

Ok, As pc player i will mod havel's gear into a character and here you go, you can now take on the asylum with havels gear. (Remembers that you can have only 88 points in total and each stat cannot be below 8) basically, If put 27 points into strength for two handed dragon tooth you will have 61 points, put 8 in each stat and they are 7 then 8*7 = 56 you will have 4 points to spare, put it into endurance for 12 endurance. You can finish the asylum in full havel gear if you can mod. (Modding is possible for console and pc)

When I started struggling against Artorias I became Havel briefly. Man, it was very interesting. Completely changes the game when you can't roll. I even was still fat rolling, and somehow managed to time several of my dodges despite my very few I frames (I failed nearly as many rolls though). Havel has my respect.

My first playthrough I used mostly Havels armour (exception was mask of the father because my first playthrough was lucky) and dragons tooth. My first artorias fight and kill was with mid rolls and the tooth.

To reduce farming time, i would recommend doing the dupe glitch with Frampt. Also, makes getting upgrade materials searching irrelevant. Just after getting the Havel armor, go straight to asylum, get iron ring, the doll and a slab, keep Quelaag soul for duping and use whenever needed or wanted.

I mean you /can/ fight him it just takes a lot of arrows/crystal soul spear and standing in a specific spot of the arena to avoid the fire, but I don't recommend it lol yeah the go fast in havel's thing, premiere put that in as a weird artifact. It wasn't there in the editor but existed after I exported. Don't know why.

Man, this was basically my first run playing Dark Souls (but replace the Dragontooth with Zweihander). As soon as I got Havel's armour I wore it. I was a massive noob who didn't realise fat rolls were bad. It was my first Souls game (heck, the only souls game besides Demons Souls at the time) and I didn't quite understand how useful rolling was (or parrying) so I just wore the best armour and had one of the best weapons I could find. Crazy how my first run can almost be considered a challenge run (even if, like you say in the description, it's an easy one). Great video, really enjoyed it! (oddly nostalgic too lol)

I think at one point they lowered the equipload from 50 to 25% to ninja flip. Iirc I was using the Ring of Favor and Protection and Havels Ring to try to buff my equip load anyway, if only we had four ring slots haha

I once made a serious build with the darkgrain+havel's ring, and then full havel's - the chest piece, which I replaced with the robe from ceaseless. Used the gargoyle church knight rapier and shield + darkmoon blade for good measure. I think it may have been my fav build ever, though it did take 84 endurance :P

FIY, there's a hidden bonfire in Sen's Fortress if you're doing a challenge like this again, and Ornstein & Smaug seem like a more practical option. Spoiler prevention: ... ... You have to drop off the roof, and down on a small ledge. You can even see the exit at the top of the stairs of the fortress, if you look up & around.

I actually use that bonfire all the time, the reason I didn't though was after doing sen skip, the gate stays closed, so If I rested at a bonfire I would be stuck there until after O&S (lord vessel), which they are obviously possible to beat, but I wanted to 'start' the game as havel so I just grabbed his stuff and left haha. My favorite thing to do with Havel's gear is OUT-TANK ORNSTEIN AND SMOUGH. That shield is broken; a good stamina/strength build and they can't TOUCH you.

15:00 If he had the necessary strenght, this would be a nice place to try havel's shield 90% magic reduction, just for roleplay reasons, a shame his shield is so heavy it's basically unusable if you ever intent to roll. 17:34 which make him invencible 😂. The only way to ignore the crystal would be one shooting Seath, and I mean actually one shooting, fire tempest and multiple hit kne button press strategies don't work. 19:53 Pro tip: Dragon king's greataxe(gaping dragon tail) is Wotg for str users.

Nice character build.. I'm currently trying to build an Iron Tarkus build in order to get one of the two final achievements in the game (Knight's Honor, which is gonna take a long time considering I got to get to Ng++ minimum). I couldn't seem to find any actual vids of an Iron Tarkus build that is in DS1, but it recommended me this video, and it gave me an idea on how to go about it.. If I remember correctly, then I believe Havel set, Giants set, and the Black Iron set are pretty much almost tied with each other with differences being in Equip load, Poise, and specific elemental resistances.. I know it's been a couple of years since you've done this video, but was ignoring Vitality for the most part in order to get a high endurance/equip load for better rolling a good idea, or did it end up causing more problems in the run than what the video showed us?

Iron tarkus sounds like a fun build, because big sword haha the low amount of vitality didn't cause a huge issue except early game because I was fat rolling without a lot of health, but the insane poise from the armor helped off set that. Later game it wasn't an issue because I was at least able to mid roll

Even in the current version you can ninja flip in full havels while using a scimitar and the dark moon talisman.

I really want to see some of these items added into elden ring as alternate looks or something DLC wise. Just for fun after you beat the game or something. There is so much they could do with armor all the way back to the KING FIELD days. Like they have so many cool designs they could give us. But I would love to see some of the armor as a dlc thing into future games at some point.

If you basically max out carry weight all the way to 99 with Havel's ring it is actually possible to get below the 25% threshold to be able to use the ninja flippy ring while wearing full Havel's. The catch however is that you are so close to the weight threshold you only have a really small margin of what weapons are light enough to equip. Rapier class weapons probably being among the best options.

Yeah, this run was ages ago but I remember going all the way to 99 endurance, I had the fap ring in which let me fast roll with a couple weapons on. But nothing with dragon tooth or his great shield, unfortunately lol

Hey man I couldnt find a comment about it so i might as well myself. The reason you couldnt parry Havel in this instance is because his two handed attacks cannot be parried.Hope I could help enjoyed the video a lot btw.

Actually, I think you're the first to mention it and I didn't learn until after this video (watching some other DS video) that you can't parry two handed attacks. even a decade after the game came out I still learn new things haha, thanks!

Interesting, my first build was a fast havel, all of his set (then I changes the head, boots and arms because the armour of the guardian in artorias dlc is better for certain things), with his weapon +1 (I didn't have enough dragon scales because I thinked that the drake sword was the best, then I found it), ring of favor and havel's ring, power within. My stats were 50 healt (because his attacks are so slow so enemies can attack you) 50 strength to take his weapons 99 stamina (for some of you is strange but thanks to it I could take everything without fat roll) 30 faith (just for sunlight covenant) 15 intelligence (just for that magic that let you to not take any fall damage) 16 dexerity (just for long bow)

One thing you can do is to grab the Silver Serpent Ring as soon as you get to firelink, so long as you don't die to the Skeleton Doggos.

I usually don't do that just because I hate having to navigate out of the catacombs at a low level, or doing it in one life, but yes its definitely do able!

@@DoomWolfOfficial Honestly, I don't blame you at all lol. If it werent for the skeleton doggos, and the blind jump to the ring, it wouldn't be that bad. Oh. And also the pitch black abyss which ironically ISN'T the abyss. I play offline, so I have a mod that allows any bonfire to be warped to, but it also allows me to teleport at anytime, even before the lordvessel. So, it's not as nerve wracking as without it.

I don't know if it's possible, however your skills are so good I'll ask. Can you do a deathless run through dark souls 1-3? If you fail, you have to start over from the 1st game with a new character? Is it possible or is it impossible to not die once in the games?

It's possible, a couple (and I literally mean like...5 lol) players have done it. Am *I* good enough to do that...mmm idk. I have no hit bosses before, not back to back but I'd say I could with a little practice (or a lot of practice depending on which fight you're talking about lol)
