The chat: Riposte is avoiding damage Chat again: being too close is tech dodging "Is KiLLiNg tHe bOsS aVoiDiNg DaMaGe tOo??"
@ObeyCamp7 ай бұрын
For real. The rules were so clearly established. Technically he didn't riposte, as a riposte is an attack following a parry, and what he did is just a critical attack on a staggered enemy, which in the game does work the same way, but it isn't the same action. Standing close to the boss is not dodging, and the rules clearly stated that the boss missing an attack does not count as the player dodging the same attack. It's 100% with the spirit of the challenge. The challenge was to beat the game without dodging, not to beat the game while absorbing all of the damage everything can possibly dish out forever without ever killing anything or dying lmao.

yep, it reminds me of ds 1 and 2 in that regard. also the reason why im not that big a fan of bloodborne. as that game is too 1 note. you basicalyl play the exact same way but using diferent weapons that dont change it that much. and before people come talking about how in BB weapons are more unique, they kinda are, but changing them is not that diferent from 2-handing in other souls like.
@giulioceresini1435 Жыл бұрын
@@marcosdhelenono, changing weapon form is nothing like two handing, but you can tell yourself that if you want. You can dislike bloodborne, but this is just plain false. Every attack combos with every followup you choose. In other souls game R1 combos with R1 and R2 with R2, and that's that. Sometime you get a R1-R2 combo, but that's it. Hitting different button simply disrupts the flow of the action and resets the combo. Which is fine for souls game since they play at a much slower pace, but weapons definitely have less than 1/3 of the options and movesets bloodborne has. The changing form attacks have a moveset of their own. Two handing is an action that stays the same for every weapon, changing form is an actual attack and plays right into the fast pace of bloodborne. Again, it's fine if you don't like it, but the comparison makes no sense.

@@giulioceresini1435 " In other souls game R1 combos with R1 and R2 with R2" this clearly shows you are talking out of your ass. seriously, there's a channel dedicated to DS1 pvp, and he proves that this is just false. many weapons not only can combo r1s into r2, but you can also combo using rolls, side steps, running and jump attacks. some spears for example, have thrusts in the r1, but sweeps in the r2. and you can easily combo them. so many weapon combos allow for roll catches in ds1. just look at the broad sword moveset and tell me you cant combo it. in some cases you can combo stuff other weapons cant, like the reinforced club, allowing jump attack into r2 for a second jump attack. and that's DS1, which is only not as clunky as DeS. in other games like DS2 and 3, it becomes even easier to combo stuff. specially in 3, as some weapon arts were designed to literary be comboable with r1s or r2s.

For those who want to play around with Lion's Claw/Flame of the Redmanes on great hammers and such, consider the talismans that recover hp/fp on critical attacks. Great hammers' criticals strike twice, giving double the effect (also daggers on big enemies). On Mohg, for example, Bushy might not have needed to drink flasks at all with these talismans.

From most of what I’ve seen, the reason why Great Stars and Prelate’s Charge work well together is because people cast Bloodflame Blade alongside. The buff only lasts 15 seconds, it's more likely that people just don't bother with it since it's not worth the trade. One could make an argument for the radiant variant of the buff which lasts for 70 seconds but is only obtainable once in a playthrough, can't be stored, you can't hold more than 1 and it doesn't carry over to NG+. One thing that occurred to me was, why not use Spirit Ashes? If the goal was simply to prove that the game is beatable without using reactionary movement, using Spirit Ashes would make it even simpler. They are after all the inbuilt easy mode of the game. Mimic Tear is almost an "I win button" vs all bosses. Also, Endure on an offhand dagger or in a secondary slot adds alot of Poise and resistance. Bubble Aromatic(forgot the real name of it) also adds alot of dmg resistance, could have been useful vs giant hits that take awhile to land like Radahns divebomb. - against rules I guess...

@@alpharius1497 A wiki isn't the same as a strategy guide. Knowing all the things that exist doesn't tell you how to put together a specific build, which a complete noob won't understand without some trial and error at the very least. Fromsoft min/maxing isn't the most intuitive thing for non-standard "put stats into damage, do more damage" builds.

100% agreed. I am struggling because I don't have knowledge of the game. The fighting mechanics are easy to learn. It's the rest of the stuff and I don't wanna use internet every 2 minutes to ask, what's this, what's that. I just wanna play the game. But its the mechanics that are the issue for most new ppl yes I agree. And I don't want to "study" to play a game. I just want a fun time. Sigh... Probably just not for me I guess

love seeing Great Stars used more, as a Great Hammer Enjoyer it’s my favorite Ash of War -able weapon in the game, power stanced they’re absolutely incredible

I want a sword version personally. Not a fan of bit morningstars.

I love watching people make these very specific builds that seemingly break the game while not breaking the game. Besides, enabling people who have just had enough of trying to "git gud" and just want to steamroll everything is a noble goal imo. As long as we're all having fun. Tbh though, eating things to remove DOT effects on yourself is pretty much the definition of "reactionary using an item for the purpose of avoiding damage", so if you're going to allow consuming those, you might as well allow throwing freeze bombs. You could even argue it fits the theme more of "keep attacking in some form without dodging."

This goes to show that becoming a concrete wall that occasionally throws hands is a possible strat. Granted you have to have access to the wiki and a bunch of prep before the first shardboi, but everyone can do this.

Not even that. I did it without the internet or guides. But add in a little bit of just smart gameplay (things you should do in any hack and slash).

The opposite of a no hit run, i love it.

Not quite🤣 No hit would be impossible for me, so this works. Oh wait, I knew that 2 times already😂

The sleep pots line is so funny because EXACTLY what I was thinking by the third run.

I’ve been doing this challenge myself but I only use jump attacks, no damaging ashes of war, no consumables, no great runes, no spells/incantations, and I’m not allowed to use the roll button ever. I unbinded it. No running, rolling, backsteps, recovery roll, torrent dash, etc.. I think the lack of a wake-up roll specifically turns the game into a nightmare against most bosses. Waiting for the full get-up animation takes like 2-3 full seconds and makes this challenge far more difficult than it otherwise would be
