Just a note at 32:46 The canon reason magic units can traverse sand easily is because they're wearing robes and carrying books and sticks around. The sand is a lot less troublesome than say, being on horseback while decked out in armor carrying 3 swords and a javelin.
@FuriousHaunter10 ай бұрын
In fe 9 or 10 it is stated that mages can move through the desert easier because they have sprites that clear the sand for them.

I normally don't watch these types of videos because the answer is obviously yes, as long as the enemies don't hit for 100%, a damageless run is always possible, it's just a matter of resetting until you get the correct luck. This video though, strategizes properly to minimize randomness, and planned for the endgame from the very second chapter, making me stick with it to the end. Clicked for the Neimi, stayed for the strats.
@FormerMoonGod9 ай бұрын
In doing research for my channel's traffic sources, I happened across your video. God damn this is fantastic, and unintentionally it kind of legitimized Neimi despite tier lists forgetting her early join time, growth potential, and ability to gain a mount. Even with the most intentional means of trying to stay objective, I wonder how many people just pushed Neimi down because she cries "too much". For real, this was a great video.
@Shark31439 ай бұрын
I think tier lists often have a small bias regarding high investment units where conventionally good growth units are given the generous assumption of multiple statboosters in addition to XP funnelling (Vanessa gets ranked S tier a lot w/ these assumptions), and units that have serious flaws like Neimi have to deal with the Opportunity Cost allegations and are evaluated without a high-investment playstyle in mind.

I think it's more the lack of reliable 1-2 range options. Also, rangers only have 7 move. At least they have the nomad terrain movement costs.

@vini646 ай бұрын
I started playing FE games last year, finished the three GBA games recently, and I try to never read about which units are the best and their stats and growth rates until after I finish it. Because of that, Neimi was actually part of my main squad until the very end of the game, which I bonded with Artur and Garcia for support. Indeed at first it felt like it was pretty hard to get her to land hits and get level ups, but I persevered and by the end of the game iirc she got to lvl 10 promoted. So yeah, Neimi good!

Fun fact: the soldier in Ch1 is not random His action AI is set to only attack units who he starts his turn in range to attack, and his move AI changes after turn 1 On turn 1 he does not move On turn 2 onward, he will move Meaning it is fully impossible to participate in combat wth him on turn 1, and on subsequent turns he will not initiate combat unless you leave a unit next to him

Small note, the rng used in the GBA games forward until Fates uses something called "2 RN". It's basically exactly as you described it, you just used the wrong name. "True RN" is the one used in FE1-5 where the displayed hit is exact, meaning a 90% has a 10% chance to miss. And "Fates RN", the one used from FE Fates onward, uses True RN for 50% and lower and 2 RN for 51% and higher.
@Shark314310 ай бұрын
Depends on who you ask. Good 'ol Serenesforest documents the 2RN system under the name "TrueHit" and that name has been in the community for quite some time. Also I think Engage uses Fates RN but Three Houses is 2RN?? I didn't look this up but it sounds true in my mind palace
@ScootsLounge10 ай бұрын
@Shark3143 thinking on it more, yeah I mightve been wrong on the names. 1RN is Fe1-5, 2RN is Fe6-13, and Fates RN is 14-present, with True Hit being the actual hit of 2/Fates RN (i.e. 93% shown is 99% true). I believe 3H uses Fates RN, but tbh I haven't looked that into it myself. But I know SoV uses FatesRN, and so does Engage. It'd be really weird if they just swapped back to 2RN for one game lol
@Flametix10 ай бұрын
@@ScootsLounge 3H does use 2RN, and the brief switch is probably because it was made by Koei Tecmo instead of IS. Fates/Hybrid RN above 50% also doesn't use 2RN exactly but involves a sine function that ends up with lower hitrates than 2RN.

I always felt like Seth's weakness was that he started off good. Which meant his late game stats are suboar compared to fully slow promoted units.

Unfortunately if you compare averages, he ends up being just as good if not better than a lot of units even if you promote your units after 20 levels, he only actually slows down in the post-game because stat caps actually matter there
