Some tips for those who don’t know exactly how Honey Trees work: 1) Every time you slather honey on a tree, there is a 10% chance that you won’t get a Pokémon from it. You can tell if this happens by checking the tree immediately after applying honey to it. If it doesn’t say “the bark is slathered with honey,” then you have to reapply it 2) Save before checking a tree. Your encounter is determined when you apply the honey 6 hours before, but the Pokémon’s nature, gender, level, and ability can still be random. If you get a Combee from a tree, there’s nothing stopping you from constantly resetting to try and get a female

Hey I tried to evolve my riolu into a Lucario at 2 in the morning and at 8 am the next day, I realised what the problem was. I felt really dumb that day. Also I forgot it was a friendship evolution and I ended up going into the elite four with riolu who was at level 42 and still didn't evolve.

@@gmk9321 I'm more surprised he didn't utlize his Pokemon better. Vespiquen is designed to be a stalling Pokemon, it naturally learns Toxic, and has two custom movies that heal it and raise it's defense, and can have Pressure. Ambipom has Technician which boosts it's weaker moves under 60 power making things like rock smash and etc really good. And Mothim could have been tutored Tailwind to boost his team's speed. He's just gotta start using actual strategy instead of submitting to over leveling and etc.

Is it hard to catch the Munchlax, if you know what trees will spawn in? I'm not sure how often it appears, but I know there's a fairly simple code to figure out which trees can attract it.

Die4Dethklok its a one percent encounter rate in four trees out of the 21 in the Sinnoh region (two of which you can find using using your trainer ID other two are based on your secret ID which you can’t figure out without hacking the game). You slather honey on a tree and then you have to wait 6 hours before an encounter shows up (if one even shows up at all). And you can’t push the clock ahead because of how the gen 4 games work. It’s not necessarily hard to catch, it’s just hard to encounter.

I rarely read things aloud, and when I read in my head, I don't actually think about how a name is supposed to be pronounced. I just have the first letter then a bunch of white noise and only recognise it when it's written down. Occasionally I'll replace the white noise with random letters that only kind of make sense. I've tried to think more about pronunciation since I came to the embarrassing realisation that I'd been pronouncing Imladris from Lord of the Rings as himalayas (but without the h), even though I'd also seen the films.

The problem is that it would quickly devolve into repeating fights endlessly until luck is near perfect or just over leveling the mon Also would be something of an issue to get decent moves on other mons without requiring obscene amounts of lv grinding with an exp share, especially in earlier gens without infinite tms Either way it doesn’t sound like something that would be done in a week, it’s definitely interesting though

That does sound brutal. Slugma has the lowest base stat total of all Fire type Pokemon. Its move pool is also terrible - its only damaging level move until Level 8 is the incredibly weak Smog, and not only that, Ember is its only Fire type move by level up until Level 36. Roxanne will be tough, and he would almost certainly have to be at Level 100 to have a chance against Wallace. It might be impossible to beat him without Double Team.

When i was trying to get honey tree pokemon i only hunted for about a week and got heracross and munchlax back to back, i got the heracross and was so happy then next tree i got munchlax... That was a good day (i also didnt know which trees were munchlax trees)

Are there any super slow fragile pokemon with weak armor? Because that sounds super painful *cough cough* weak armor shuckle for example Idea was taken from that hacked pokemon fighting people do, where you can have a Pokemon with any moves, abilities, etc. Then battle other teams of pokemon that get the same rules. I saw a weak armor alakazam using electro ball and that gave me this idea

Next time you wanna do a playthrough with tree pokemon, might I recommend "Heartgold or Soulsilver with only Headbutt Tree pokemon". Some different pokemon, Heracross is relatively early, and headbutting trees is WAY quicker than slathering honey. (Start the game with Zigzagoon since it learns Headbutt naturally at level 9, or pick up the TM in Ilex Forest)

Farfetch'd being able to learn sword dance, he can be a real monster. I use one in my Pokemon Yellow run, and I one shot swipe whole teams with just him (as long as he hit first that is)
