I beat Pokemon Violet from start to finish using HISUIAN POKEMON ONLY!

Basculin is one of GameFreak's little mysteries. White-striped Basculin for some reason is not considered a Hisuain form in Scarlet and Violet, and will produce white-striped spry without an Everstone as long as the mother is a white striped one (or when you're using a ditto). When it comes to passing down specific poké balls all three variants are considered one and the same, but the white striped form does have different egg moves from the red and blue variants because this fish is just one big clusterfudge of exceptions to the rule.

It isn’t really considered a regional variant in Legends: Arceus either, according to Laventon. It’s just an ancient relative lost to time, I suppose 🤷‍♀️

Well, what offspring is it supposed to produce if it followed the typical regional form pattern? Both the red/blue-striped forms are equals and it makes little sense to just pick one or to make it random either. This was one of the things I was wondering for a long time on how they'd handle it before HOME 3.0.0's release. None of the alternatives or the chosen one are really satisfactory.

​​@@wondermanp15 The Pokédex entry was Laventon deciding to classify that form of Basculin as a regional variant for the first time. Like Oshawott's scalchop. It certainly isn't ancient considering Legends: Arceus is only 2-3 centuries ago.

Awesome video! I love the Hisuian Pokémon, they are some of the best designs in the series and probably the best regional forms out of all the regional form families we have from Galar and Alola. Also side note Hisuian Pokémon are not ancient forms, they are regular regional forms from a not so far past of Sinnoh. It is confirmed in game that some of the hisuian Pokémon came after the form we already know such as the starters and others like hisuian Zorua and Zoroark.

Awesome video as always Stockpile was increasing Ozai's Def and SpeDef so I think is why it took it so well Bundle was just ironically dumb AI I think

I think I get why Gentledude didn't send Ozai out first for Bundle, he thought it was Water like Johtonian Qwilfish. But Overqwil is Dark/Poison so nothing Bundle has would have hit him that hard anyways. He lost Sokka, Katara, and Iroh for really no reason. Ironically, he had someone that absolutely would have outsped the 136 base speed Bundle. Aang. Electrode's 150 base speed and a Special Electric move with Tera probably would have ended it without a single loss. But he didn't even bring Aang at all

I'ved brought over the Hisuian Pokémon as soon as possible as they never got a fair use in a regular game with regular battles with their full capabilities (items/abilities). Kleavor retained on my team. Sharpness, SwordsDance, StoneAxe, X-scissor, Acrobatics with a Berry (used to be Sitrus, now it's Salac) is an absolute terror. It together with PlayRough/Protean-Meow absolutely slayed Drayton in the BBL without even being overlevelled. Arcanine can also run through teams if I let it.. But I decided a long time ago that Armarouge would be my Fire-type. 😅
