Ye i used a mod for it to give it deeper depth and i had to put on like 4 or 5 hull reinforcements to make it survive on the lower levels

900 m gets you to the Cove tree, so from that point just bring a ton of O2 tanks and you'll be fine

Even after this there are still 2 more options: Bases only, where you aren't allowed vehicles and instead if you want to go down you need to make bases for air. Once the base is placed, you can't remove it. Nothing only, where you aren't allowed to use bases, or vehicles. Just yourself.

Even with spare airtanks, there is a limited number of airtanks you can carry, and so a limited amount of air to go down. You would have the tank you are wearing, plus 6 extra lightweight tanks or 4 extra ultra high capacity tanks. Is that enough to get you all the way down?

The only things you need to repair the Aurora are the rad suit and repair tool iirc. Usually in my runs I try and rush the Aurora ASAP so I can use the rebreather and come back when I get a laser cutter for the rest of the stuff

This is basically how I did my first play through just parked above lava zone hole near the alien facility in the lost river. Swam to the thermal plant and had oxygen then got the stuff I needed went to the primary containment facility and boom basically done. I had the other vehicles but just never used them except for the cyclops shield generator for the ship.

Very educational video! Learned about economics instead of upgrading my seamoth. Such a good teacher. Learned inflation of CPI index of subnautica ocean with fish is bad and we must kill things with our new and improved seamoth, now resistant to being broken by hover fish! I’d suggest putting the hull upgrade in place of the sonar, it gives the seamoth drastically increased defense as opposed to the sonar, which just shows you where the terrain and fish are.

Hull upgrade just lowers damage from accidentally hitting terrain. Sonar lets you avoid dangerous creatures before they can even see you, and lets you navigate without your lights on (also very handy)

its probably a good idea to have the material for a moon pool when you are too deep so that you can repair the seamoth, and recharge your batteries. meanwhile you descend, it should also be possible to outpower the degradation of the seamoth with the repair tool. in theory you should be able to beat the game without swimming out of it
