It's probably something he is doing subconsciously, without being aware of it. Most likely in response to the external stimuli. It could just be from being excited, It could be from being anxious, or it could even be from being nervous. Sort of like someone who has the habit of biting their fingernails, or bouncing their leg, and they don't even realize they are doing it. I'm not a 100% certain which one it is for Matt. However, what I am certain of, is it's not something he does with the intent of "being creepy".
