You also short sided yourself from bad shots 3 times resulting in a dropped shot and underclubbed 2-3 times resulting in a dropped shot but the wind wasn't helping here. Get a driver you can hit and make some better course management choices and you'll break 75 easily. I’ve always found it so weird that I can watch a video, see someone’s aim/line and say that it needs to be more left/right and be correct 80% of the time as a viewer. However on the course those reads turn to mud because it’s so hard to trust what you’ve read and it gets in the back of your mind and you push or pull, hit it short or long etc. I guess my point is (as someone who is NOT good at putting) is that it seems easy to read when you watch someone else do it but almost impossible trusting the read for yourself. We watch these videos and judge so much and the way they sometimes go probably make us feel a lot better about ourselves, but; we should all realise that this game is so difficult and watching and judging with no pressure is so much easier than even hitting a 5 footer with your friend, and, I love that it’s the same for everyone. Great video, thank you.

I’m a bit of a Ping fan, so this may be a bit biased, but I think a couple of Ping clubs might be the answer for you. 1. The 10k max. Finch seems to love it. 2. Don’t laugh, but a Chipr might do you a world of good. You’ve got a lot of confidence with your putting off of the green, and the Chipr gives you more of a putting feel with just enough loft to get you over some rough areas. However, I know ego keeps the Chipr out of many bags, much like people choosing MBs when CBs might help them more. Regardless, I’m a terrible golfer anyways, so my opinion means nothing lol 😂 Always enjoy your videos Rick, keep up the great content!

Good to see the Wilson irons in the bag. One thought here......is it acceptable to go to another KZbin golf content provider for help? If so, Rick I think you need to watch Golf Sidekick for how to manage a course and play your shots to score better. No shame, he has amazing content. Very funny, very relatable and extremely valuable.

"I'm looking for more distance this year" - why Rick? It's obvious the issues in your game right now are chipping and consistency off the tee. It's painful watching you constantly struggle, fall way behind the ability level of other youtubers around you and then say your investing time into finding 20 yards in your drives... WHY?!?

His clubbing is often miles away too.

100% right - more consistent straight hitting and a sharper short game is where so many strokes can be saved in Rick's game - distance isn't the issue.

I couldn't believe on his quadruple hole he was a couple of yards off the green with so much green to work with hitting it SO high in the air. Bring out the 9 iron and bump it to the hole for an easy shot saved.

Mate , that ping 3 fairway club is absolutely amazing!!!!! I will be adding one to my kit . I would love to have a complete ping set-up with a bit different style putter though . I have been working on my putter and reading greens and it’s probably my best area but hitting with the 3 wood on a long par 5 is my favorite and that ping club is where it’s at! 👍🏻

Hey Rick you said you had the "Wilson Staff MB irons" but those lol like the CB irons? 🤔

The comedic genius of the content script writers is absolutely brilliant. Unmatched. I got a gorgeous Taylormade driver here. I am really going to enjoy hitting hit. "Fooore right" as guests desperately scramble for shelter. 😊

I'm not hitting my woods well at all. I shot a 54 for 9 holes then left the woods at home and shot a 41 and 44 respectively in the next two 9 hole games using 6 iron (my longest iron) currently in the bag. Typically straight, straight, lob/pitch onto the green and one or two puts. I now think I should put 4/5 and maybe a driving iron into the bag for those days when the woods just don't cooperate. Build an arsenal of clubs rather than just your traditional setup.

Great finish. Take that 8 into consideration. Like the way you evaluated your clubs after the round and yes you let your driver down.

Dude just put up a 78 with a quad on his card, with new sticks and absolute shite weather. If you noticed, his cameramen were bundled up! Rick, Once you dial these in, you're gonna have a new series, Break 70!
@freyacolk56348 ай бұрын
Something I have found , you are better hitting fairway at the cost of going crazy for distance, there's no point being longer if your then losing a shot trying to get out of trouble . Also testing driver on course is far more important than on simulator, on simulator there's no consequences to the shots , on course playing a casual, handicap or competition is where it counts and we're your find out if your swing under pressure works with the club . And with the putter if you've had a fitting then don't go changing how you grip it , as it will then defeat the point of the fitting .

I think we need to see what happens if Rick committed 6 months to a full set of fitted Ping G430 Max’s with some Cleveland CBX wedges. Is it truth or myth that better players play worse with them?

Rick. Get the Ping 10k in the bag. Super forgiving and manages spin very well for higher club head speeds

Wonder if Rick named his new putter “old rusty” 😂

I see a lot of negativity in the comments. I say this with all sincerity. It looks like you're trying to hit at the ball with your right hand. This makes it easy to get yippy with short shots. Just stay relaxed with the hands on all the shots.

It’s crazy how he manages to find all those shots deep in to no man’s land and all playable 🤔😂

sorry, I might be misunderstanding, but how is a putting average of 0.55 possible over 9 holes ? that rounds up to 5 putts over 9 holes ? 28:06

I was thinking the same thing. He putted 19 times over the front nine. That’s a 2.11 putting average. I might be missing something too.

Honestly. I hate to see you with the Cobra Darkspeed. I dont remember a single break 75 with the Cobra driver ever beeing good. I love to see you golf. But the Cobra just isnt for you (when looking at the evidence of holes with the driver. I think it would be so mutch better for you to use a driver that has loads of spins who helps you find the fairways more. Again who am I to say sutch things, I am just a fan.

I had the Cobra “dog” speed for about a week. Bliddy awful club to keep in the fairway and I’m a 3 hcap. Now went to the 2024 Burner mini driver never looked back since.

I would find it so hard in your position to stick with certain clubs because of all the choices you have! I love this series, in how it gives us a look into how you approach a round and what your thinking throughout. Keep up the amazing content!! PS come to Australia it feels like there's less wind down here

Come on Rick! As a pro golfer you know only too well that any MB's have to be struck out of the middle. Anything other than the middle and it aint gonna end well. Sure they look good, but you need either MC's or perhaps some hollow heads. Forgiveness is what you need, you rarely hit the middle. The 3 wood makes sense, Max. The driver makes no sense at all. Forget a Low Spin head get a Ping 10k in with a low spin shaft. It works for Pete. Your problem is you aint a scratch golfer now you are going to need help. It gives me no pleasure to say all this. I am 16.5 handicap i reckon i could give you a run for your money

Your new driver isn't the issue, it is the new Driver Swing. I notice in this new swing, your takeaway is far more outside. Since your stock shot is a draw swing, it seems you are fighting the club, trying not to loop it at the top to come down inside or trying to avoid turning the hands over at the bottom. Either way, it is forcing the club face to stay open resulting in a push to the right. I'm no swing guru, but it just seemed pretty obvious to me. YMMV. If you've not read the book or tried the Tour Tempo app, I highly recommend researching the idea that all really good golfers swing on some form of a 3 to 1 tempo. 3 beats from takeaway to the top, 1 beat from the change of direction to contact, all great golfers swing on the same 27/9, 24/8, or 21/7 tempo/rhythm. For the short game, it is 2 to 1, which might help you specifically. This tour tempo revelation is among the greatest golf suggestions I have ever received and I do not say that lightly.

40:00 "Why I hit driver I'll never know." Yeah. This happens a LOT. No idea why you refuse to use 3 wood or a longer iron off the tee sometimes. Whether its a short par 4 or a troublesome par 5. Just take an extra shot to get to the green, and no doubt you'll yield better results and a lower score. Course management is key. Leave the ego at home.

id love to see you in a callaway AI Smoke triple diamond MAX driver. that or a TSR 2 or TSR 3. There is a bit of forgiveness in all of those with a lower spin setup (except for TSR 2 spin wise). Your ping was short as hell, you've never really got along with Taylormade, cobra has gone full bore into distance above all else and you sprayed that darkspeed LS left, right, and never center. Also, I love that on the hit channel you did a piece for the blueprint irons asking if blades are dead and now you have blades in you bag... golf is a funny game haha. You did, to that point, hit your irons beautifully and the putter was on point. Great vid Rick
