So basically the starting money he has simply equals the loan he has to pay on, right? But he doesn't get any of the loan money. It's just what he has to pay on? Since there isn't a no money start mod yet, this seems pretty good to me.

11/10 will continue watching. A rags to riches where you make mistakes, cut through fields, don’t start with everything, explain as you go. Time lapses are great. Don’t mind you throwing in some cuts. Can’t wait until lunch break to watch episode 2 I see it’s already out.
@joban8555Ай бұрын
Very refreshing gameplay! Keep doing what you're doing! I'd keep timelapses on any new machines or crops, and for those contracts you have done a lot of, just to start and finish are a nice to have. The bits talking over driving from point A to B are solid, a nice overview of how you plan to tackle his challenge. Nice summary at the end on what has been achieved, etc etc. Overall, pretty solid my guy! GG
@syrupgamesАй бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! I came to same conclusion about showing the full timelapse when it's the first time I do something, and then cutting out some repetitive bits once I've done it a few times.

I know im late to the party lol but wanted to say love the play style. Great realistic rags to riches. Subbed instantly. Definitely gonna enjoy watching the series. Might also start a new game playing like this.

Leasing the equipment on big contracts is definitely the way to go. As opposed to buying any equipment and locking yourself into specific types of contracts. Leasing only ever subtracts a tiny portion of the reward. I’m doing the same starting position as you and this method is a massive help in maximizing expenses/income. -$69k to make +$20k is a grind. Doing 5 wood transport w leased equipment is $50k profit after the $1245 lease. Great video though! Production and edits were perfecto 👌🏼
@syrupgames26 күн бұрын
Yeah leasing the equipment for contracts is definitely a lot more lucrative. I kind of wanted this series to be a bit more grindy though. Plus I think it will be more rewarding when we buy our first pieces of basic equipment if we haven't already used all the big fancy equipment doing contracts...

@chaytaylor106Ай бұрын
Love these kind of challenges! Great video. 1 question I have is about the seemingly self-imposed rule to not borrow equipment for contracts or lease equipment? IMO, using the boss's equipment when hired to do a job, and leasing your own equipment until you can afford to purchase cheap used equipment are both very realistic things that you'd need to do in real life when just starting out. Also from a content creation side, it allows a bit faster progression through the grindy contract-heavy beginning bit and gets you into being able to have your own equipment and fields a bit sooner, which is typically the more engaging content to watch.
@syrupgames29 күн бұрын
Yeah it's definitely a self imposed rule, meant to make it a bit more challenging. I also thought it would be more rewarding for equipment upgrades if I can only use equipment I own. For example I figured it would feel like less of an achievement when I buy my first cheap combine, if I've already used all the other fancy combines doing contracts... It also adds an extra element of planning with equipment upgrades as the contracts change seasonally. I can see your point though about keeping the content engaging... I did intend for there to be bit of a grind at the beginning, but it was a little more of a slog than I anticipated. I think I'm through the worst of it by the end of episode 3 though.
@robinandrews461927 күн бұрын

Well, someone got me to watch an hour of farming simulator, that's impressive. My feedback for this first episode: I really like the style, slower and more methodical than most of people I seem play, plus having some game knowledge really helps. For the time lapses, I like them, especially with the music, but I'm also okay with just showing us the start and end of a job before cutting on the repetive ones. For contracts, I would like to see the accepting of them and the finish, just so we can keep looking at the finances together. The audio here, seems a little weird, your voice quite low compared to to game. Lastly, I really liked the overview at the end, just giving a quick look at the finances and assessing the situation, hope that keeps up in the next episodes. Now, I see that there's more episodes out, going to keep binging them now, and giving my feedback on those.
@syrupgames17 күн бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! I am trying to figure out the audio, it often sounds much different in the KZbin upload than it does when I listen to it on my computer so I've been experimenting with different settings in the edit and export. I think it's more balanced in the more recent uploads, but it's still not as good as I would like. Definitely something I'm still working to improve on....

Your question about time lapses etc. I’d say, and it is what I plan to do too, 1.Stream live while recording the video then 2. Use those videos for people who want time lapsed episodic style videos. While you’re at that cut you som “Shorts” out to appease the algorithm gods. Otherwise I’d say “Keep on Keeping on!”

I'm sure there are a couple of videos after this already but ... wanted to comment! This is pretty neat! Unfortunately, I think the 0 start might be a bit too extreme for the volume of work you have to do to progress and get variety of workflow but I still have enjoyed so far! I think the combination of timelapse and jump cuts that you were doing is pretty good. It's a bit of a balance because you don't want a video of nothing but jump cuts but you don't want your content to get stale either. When going to a new part of the map I'd suggest either timelapse or play it through with your commentary, you're really good at talking through your strategy and such. I much prefer 3rd person view when watching someone else play through FS unless you are showing off the interiors of the tractors and vehicles. Personally, it gets very disorientating and almost causes a motion sickness effect with all the movements from 1st person view. Thanks for sharing and look forward to future episodes!
