Tomato Brush asked us "What about if you build a foyer inside the existing ground floor by the front door of the retail space and then include a new door and stair case going up to the 1st floor and a new door going to the retail shop? Might be useful for converting shops where the staircases are at the back of the shop and could be accessed through a corridor from the new foyer/door or where the staircase is at the back of the ground floor space with limited to no rear access to the property. Would it be that so long as the outside doesn't change it would be within permitted development?"
