Between the kitchen and the bathroom, you only need one sink. technically, with a shower and outside trash can you shouldn't need either, in fact? the problem I get is most of the 8 sims in a tiny house seem to mostly end up outside due to routing issues... of course, on the islands, you don't even need 32 tiles, as most amenities can be outside... at least, I haven't seen a sim freeze to death there yet :D

She's never even done the challenge. She's always massively cheated for tiles - there's literally an entire second floor on this thing. I would just like to see an actual try for once. Plumbella can build a functional 4-tile house, there's no excuse. :D No hate on Kayla, I like her other content, but I can't stand the fact that she comes in to most challenges fully intending to cheat or changing the rules halfway through. Defeats the point of the challenge. Just, like....try, at least.

@@Catherine-gh1kr And you probably don't do this for a living. It's not a big deal, it's just a peeve, because it makes all the challenges she attempts seem clickbaity - i.e. "can I build a micro home for 8 sims" - "actually, can I build a house twice the size of a micro home for 8 sims". "Building a house, but every room is one tile bigger" - "actually building a house where every room is 3x3, 4x4...". "Building a house, but every room is a different pack" - "Actually spinning until I get the pack I like". The point of doing the challenge is that it is SUPPOSED to be hard. And it's just annoying that she doesn't even try. It defeats the point of the challenges. Like why do it at all then.
@Futu063 жыл бұрын
@@turgburg4890 She doesn't though. She came in fully intending to double the tiles knowing that while it's "technically" a micro home for the game, it's not the size that it's supposed to be. The element of the challenge is the fact that it's supposed to be super tiny. You can build an entire mansion cheating like this and have it technically be 32 tiles, that doesn't make it a challenge. :D I agree, it's not a big deal, it's just sims content, but it defeats the point of the challenge if you're gonna cheat.

I agree but I think the reason she did it here is to guarantee there's space for chopping up and serving food. You can get away with only two counters (one for the sink and one for prep) but she was trying to lay it out in a way that looked logical for the space so she turned one side into an island (although it's connected to a half-wall by the end, so technically not an island any more?) In Germany there is a thing we call "Pantryküche". I just learned that there actually is an equivalent in english called "galley kitchen" (correct me if I am wrong). So I was always wondering why almost all of my favourite simmers (who aren't german) try to cramm a huge kitchen into a micro home. In my mind a micro-home-kitchen has TWO counter (one with the sink and one for preparation), a fridge and a stove. *poof*! There is the kitchen that fits and leaves space for other stuff, that's more important that cooking.
@ventisquear3 жыл бұрын
I agree. It was in fact disappointing that even with the cheat and having around 60 tiles, she couldn't fit in a master bedroom and only that sorry excuse of a bathroom, especially when there's 'so much space' upstairs. It works in a game, but in reality, if I had 6 children, I would care about a bigger bathroom much more than the bulky kitchen island right at the entrance. >.> You can always prepare your lunch on a dining table. But having 6 kids walking through your bedroom to get into the bathroom, especially at night... After a couple of months, you'd be depressed and seriously considering the murder, because life in a prison would be more comfortable. XD

Imagine sharing a bathroom with 8 other people. A tiny bathroom with no storage.
@bscllyrunix3 жыл бұрын
2 words: Philippines, poverty
@writerspen0102 жыл бұрын
I sort of did that for a semester in college when I studied abroad: 16 people in their own rooms. There were 4 individual dorm rooms per floor (ground floor and loft), 8 in total in one side of the unit, then that unit was mirrored on the opposite side of a communal bathroom (which connected the two units) that had iirc 4 or 6 toilets and 4 showers. The dorm rooms had a bed with storage drawer, desk, closet with no door but a shelf, and cabinet with no doors above the bed. You get around the hurdles of sharing the few bathrooms by keeping all your toiletries in your own room and using what shelves there were in the bathroom when you used it. The university I studied at had a custodial person come in regularly to clean the bathrooms but wouldn't provide toilet paper, so you had to buy your own. That was annoying, but overall the experience wasn't terrible. The dorm unit also had a small kitchen that consisted of a sink, stove, and maybe an oven. I can't remember if there was a counter or not. The kitchen table fit 4 or 6 of us. I can't remember if the loft had communal furniture above that. It sounds worse than it actually is. This was perfectly fine for student housing, which is the main reason why I think anybody would live in a house that small with this many people, unless you had a mobile home or something, which I think would match the square footage of one side of the unit, plus one or two of the bathrooms.
@anaya__3 жыл бұрын
Now the real challenge would be to make an 8 sim micro home with no cheating allowed Edit: Just to clarify I mean cheating as in tile cheats, not written cheats such as bb.moveobjects, etc.
@dbseamz3 жыл бұрын
I think in-game cheats (such as bb.moveobjects) would still be allowed because the game gives you those on purpose, but not the tile cheat. I'm surprised to see no one I've found has tried building somewhere with nice weather like Sulani, then doing an area that's sheltered but technically outdoors (a roof supported by columns with those divider panel things for walls, kind of like J. Turner's No Walls Challenge.) I would not consider that a cheat, myself.
@DoveJS3 жыл бұрын
@@dbseamz That would be really nice but the problem is sheltering it could make it into a room, potentially. I think the real trick would be to have all the beds inside and all of the cooking outside, with a fridge inside or on the porch (alternatively, living room/kitchen space and everyone has a tent!)
@dbseamz3 жыл бұрын
@@DoveJS I don’t think roofs and columns define a room, I think it depends on the wall tool. Might have to try it myself
@DoveJS3 жыл бұрын
@@dbseamz It's a combination of the roof, the wall, and the ceiling tool but yeah the wall tool is the main factor. However, I think adding a ceiling over a floor tile is what makes it a grey area (you can have a roof without a ceiling however and this would help.) Definitely play around with it though! I think you have a good idea. :)

Other rules: Swatches are finalized once timer runs out Furniture includes lights Doors windows and landscaping can be bought with a 5 minute timer. At the beginning randomize for the lot type (House hunted house park bar micro home etc) the budget and the sim amount (pets children whatever) If you forgot a toilet you can not buy one even if it would not function. This isn't a micro home, lol. Even if the game doesn't count the second floor as an actual room, it still makes the house bigger than 32 tiles :')
@thisisaperson660 Жыл бұрын
ok yeah but a real human being can actually function in a proper micro home or a van while sims cant, so idk, get over it?

Next challenge: No cheats! (MOO, UI cheats, etc.) Only base game and packs, you also have to make the house fit at least 3 sims. (Parents + Kid) Budget: Less than 100K, also you have to do the biggest tiny home challenge thing, (I think it’s like 108 tiles or something) but yeah, TRY IT! It would make you crazy 😝😁

@@vicmattison4896 I HATE the gameplay ATUEJAJ I literally just got parenthood for the bb/cas items 😭😭 I HATE how the kids and toddlers make messes 24/7 instead of doing what I actually tell them to and I hate having to keep their responsibility and empathy and stuff in check it stresses me out so bad LMAO at least I still have those B-E-A-Utiful kitchen cabinets tho tbh those are worth the 20 dollars I spent in the pack they are simply GORGEOUS
