Since it's an old victorian style house, I like to imagine there are stories behind the weird things :D -There are so many columns because the roof was threatening to fall so they just kept adding them instead of fixing whatever caused it -Someone was halfway through re-doing the roof and stopped the project and it never got finished, which is why there's the weird roof-less spot on the porch -The fireplace is made out of like, plaster and it was a cheap installation because the person wanted a fancy fireplace but didn't even spend the money to get the window on the outside removed -The kitchen was "remodeled" and now has the newer, white cabinets and the odd, built-in stove and oven

Okay so here's here's scope with this house: Think about it... It's an old family home with updated appliances. The reason why it's shaped so "weirdly" is because it used to be an old shop (hence the random wall). The new people of the house added an updated fireplace because of the cold winters. Some of the furniture is turned or pushed back because the kids like to run around the house a lot. Since there's no TV the kids pretty much love going to the park and spending time outside. Sometimes they sneak on the computer & watch old movies. Their parents make sure that they always do their homework while taking care of the toddlers. One parent is a freelancer and the other is a professor. They're earning money to add in other renovations for the kids like a swing, or a thermostat.

I'm reminded of the days when we'd used columns to build a house in the sky in The Sims, so we'd complete the house then delete all the columns, and have a floating house suspended with a staircase. It was awesome. Stupid but awesome.

Ah yes, I remember building a house in the sky for one of my witches in Sims 2, two stories up in the air, and making the ground floor a magical garden (or as magical as a 12? yo without any sense of style or building experience and who just found out about CC could make it). But instead of columns I'd just make a super huge box that filled the whole lot so i wouldn't have to fiddle with columns. Which I inevitably had to do anyway after deleting the bottom floors and designing the garden and deciding i wanted to change the windows, or add a porch, etc. Nowadays I'm more of a basement troll lmao

Since you always say “you can always add more” you should try a challenge where you can only click on each section (like flooring, doors, windows, kitchen counters, bushes, etc.) one time in the game. So if you’re going to put beds in, you have to put all the beds in the house in at the same time and then you can’t click beds again. Or you have to do all the paintings at the same time. And all the walls in at the same time, etc. Seems like it could be kinda fun! :)
