This reminds me of how I typically build a house in the sims. Not the timer and panicking but after about 20-30 minutes my adhd starts kicking in and I rush my builds. I'm like "does it function? yes? okay it's done." lol

I like to take my time too. I usually take 3 or 4 hours and I still make mistakes. I think creating a real or historic house in the Sims will be harder. Sometimes you have to substitute and then there are architextual details you simply can't do in the Sims.

When I first started really building I ALWAYS used floor plans. They helped me from my builds in The Sims and Sims 2 being one box with just walls thrown up anywhere, to the Sims 3 my builds actually looking like a real house. 😂 When I first started playing the Sims I hated building and used in game builds as much as possible. But once I started using floor plans to build, I developed a love for building and began to build way more than I actually play. I don’t really need them anymore, but every now and then, especially when I’m looking to build in a style I’m unfamiliar with, floor plans still come in clutch.

I must admit I got a wee bit stressed watching this race against the clock, but your build turned out great! Those dotted/broken lines on the floor plan indicate a vaulted ceiling in the living/kitchen area, which would have filled your extra 19 minutes lol!! (p.s. I still always forget to paint ceilings!!) I have a challenge idea: recreating a house from your early childhood memory, like a grandparent’s residence or a best friend’s house…of course, this is more of a challenge for those of us who are a bit older!

It came out fine. But, personally, not a fan of speed. House in an hour, dress in a day. But it costs in stress and the results are never really satisfying. I am comparing how you seem to feel about this build with the love you obviously had for the dream farmhouse you finished over weeks. You enjoyed working on that one and hated working on this one. Do more of what you love. IF you do challenges, maybe find ones that don't constrain quality.
