‘Can I Call My Mom?’: Actor Lil Meech Cuffed at Airport for Gun in Luggage

Newly released bodycam footage shows actor and rapper Lil Meech being arrested at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in December after airport security found a gun in his luggage. Demetrius Flenory Jr. then asked officers, “Can I call my mom?” The actor tried to explain that the firearm was in his bag due to a mix-up with his personal security guard, but the police still took him into custody. The Broward County State Attorney’s Office later declined to charge Flenory after evidence corroborated his story.

The second officer already knew what was up. Have him the best advice. “Sit tight, don’t say a word.” People may see this as being rude or dismissive but he is legitimately giving him the best legal advice he can give. He understands his situation and realizes this is all a big misunderstanding. Glad to see this was resolved peacefully and without incident.

It’s crazy to me that when a celebrity is involved, the body cam has no problem getting to the media and out to the public.
