I don't know anything about Portnoy other than hearing and seeing him shooting a video reviewing pizza in my old neighborhood awhile back. I could tell he was a 'sports guy' from his contrived 'sports guy' cadence. Later on I tried to watch the series of his Toronto pizza reviews and found them unwatchable.

@@clairenicholls8024 I think it's a writing class thing. You're taught to respect the brevity and structure of conversation. When writing good conversations, in most cases, one speaker gets one short paragraph to express a thought and they doesn't have to share it with other speakers. So one person "talking in paragraphs" kills the exchange and is avoided when possible. Basically, he told Joe to shut up for a second and let him speak in a fancy-pants kind of way.

I will argue with people all day, no matter how much experience they have. In my almost 40 years on this planet, I have run into countless people who are veterans in their field with decades of experience and they are completely clueless about their own field. They're wrong, constantly. This is a normal and frequent occurrence. Experience doesn't equal intelligence and half the world's population is running around with a two-digit IQ. Now, when presented with evidence, like Joe did and repeatedly try to denounce it? That's some Dunning-Kruger shit right there.

I think Portnoy felt like he was in the ring himself during this. He is the captain of a bunch of open- mouthed ball-bustin asshole's mostly out of Boston and has to keep his alpha status. Rogan is the king alpha in the whole world of new world internet entertainment and if he just piped down he knew the shit he would face. The arrogance/stupidity it would take to argue with the one who wears the publicity face of UFC for a living, when you are the type of guy who one time punched a kid in highschool at a party, that one of your friends was already whooping. El Capitane did not get to where he is at by being stupid or out of touch. He got there by intelligence and having a cocky stand up guy kind of personality that made people care about his opinion of pizza restaurants.

Joe still has not apologized to Candace for getting heated over Global Whining...THE GREATEST LIE EVER TOLD. But This was before COVID so I think Joes maybe changed his opinion on what the "experts aka climate grifters" have to say about everything. The so called climate scientist have to say every it's real, their research funding & personal lecture fees depends on it. They are in too deep now to tell the truth, plus they will be shunned by friends & colleagues. Man cannot control the fkn climate, the jet stream controls the climate. The Sun controls the jet stream. Which is why it was hotter in medieval times, w/o a single truck 🛻 driving around back then spewing no CO2 (the same fkn gas that puts fizz in soda). @DylanForeva Firstly I can only speak as someone from the UK cos I do not know US laws. 1) you have to disclose ANY impairment to the DVLA. This includes prescription drugs that make you impaired 2) Medical cannabis is legal in the UK. Therefore it is no different from someone on prescription other prescription drugs. 3) if you have a medical prescription then you are protected by discrimination laws. This means police are liable to be sued if found making an assumption that a medical user is suspected as a recreational user. Why? Because the medical user is not obliged to disclose their medical condition. The police will ask you to present your prescription and ID to verify youre a legal user but you have to right not to do this and if they arrest you then they are liable. Therefore the police can only suspect. This means, if I have a medical prescription for cannabis, do an impairment test and pass, and am arrested. I will sue the police. This is still relatively new area of law and I believe it's similair in some states in America were medical cannabis is legal. There has only been a few court cases so far on this scenerio. 4) there is only a small amount of data thus far on impairment whilst driving under the influence of cannabis. The data we have suggests that 70% of people under the influence are impaired and 30% aren't. They tested this by doing tests were the speed of response to a prompt was measured. This data doesn't really give us much. We need to also understand how long they have been consuming, what strains they smoke, other medical conditions etc... 5) due to this your views on driving under the influence should be no different to people driving under the influence of any other prescription drug that can impair you. You should not single out and discriminate against one drug. All impairment is bad and unfortunately because humans react differently to medications there is no way practical way to measure impairment for one to even know if they are impaired or not.

I can 100% see why Portnoy had his stance though. I was also at that Cleveland fight and Tommy Fury did look terrible that night. Could of been an off night but everyone was expecting him to have a good fight and he stunk it up against some scrub that was way smaller than him & only fought a few times. He redeemed himself vs Jake though.

Joe makes the same mistakes i always end up making in discussions. Asking why people do or believe certain things. Asking what makes their choice better than mine. I have found that in my experience this shuts conversations down quickly or turns them into heated discussions. I always try to make sense of things, this i do with logic and asking questions. Thing is, sometimes things don't make any sense (to me) but they do to them. It's about that filter we all personally have. Crowder actually was a good example of this, as he tried to say. I'm not saying he was in the right though, let's be clear about that. Joe's personal experiences with marijuana differ from Steven's, which is why they have a different opinion on the subject and to both of them their own opinion makes sense.

I disagree, he got Crowder to agree that he prefers a free market, that he understands weed can be beneficial and that it does not need to be as beneficial as other substances yet he wouldn’t agree to legalisation. That would frustrate me to no end because you’re admitting that your point is completely unfounded. We’ve become too comfortable as a society just taking meaning away from everything and just saying things because we feel them. There are such things as facts.
@PeTHiRoTH1992
@PeTHiRoTH1992 Жыл бұрын
@@besttunesrighthere what part do you disagree with? The part about personal experiences and filters? Cuz i'm saying basically the same as you. A filter gets created through personal experience, if Crowder has bad experiences with weed or something of the sort chances are that no amount of evidence will convince him otherwise. Aside from that, i am also a smoker and i am convinced weed isn't all good. It makes people with serious mental issues more unstable, it makes people satisfied with their lives even if its nothing good and while the product itself may not be addictive its working surely is. Based on my own personal experiences and everything i've seen regarding weed i do understand where he's coming from. The facts are not what Crowder disagrees with, its his filter that doesn't allow him to agree. As i said before, when someone challenges your filter discussions get heated.

I'm pro marijuana, though it's not a medical marvel. It did help me tremendously through chemo. Though I also have a connective tissue disease that causes massive inflammation and nerve pain in my face shoulders and hips. The worst thing for my inflammation is marijuana..... This video just shows that when you get loud and dramatic you lose the argument and sound dumb. That being said, Joe is human and the fact it’s so rare for him to go off the rails a bit is a huge testament to how much he has grown and how much patience he has. It has to be hard to listen to opposing positions and wildly inflexible people so often.

The term global warming is slowly being replaced with Climate change because it is more accurate. Not too long ago, people were saying there was global cooling. The truth is that the climate changes all the time, and the focus is on whether or not the temperature is becoming more extreme (in both directions) and whether or not humans have had an effect on it.
