I thought the pink and white dragonfruit flower on the AI cake was just piped dragonfruit-flavored buttercream (like how you pipe buttercream roses) but I think it's cool you tried to go a natural route with a real dragonfruit on top. I like how the yellow slices turned out. The flavors of the cake sound delicious! Good job :)

You did so well! The texture on the side of the cake is spot-on and considering the decoration on the top just can't be real, you got pretty darn close to recreating them! All in all it looks really really good.

The best channel collaboration EVER - to see my favorites join up was sheer joy. I saw the Sorted video first and was amazed with the boy's effort. You had a calming effect on them, especially Mike - as he is known for his "Huddlestorms"!!! The final cakes were beautiful. I then got to watch your collab with Ben; what a wonderful pairing. Such an innovative idea of using AI to come up with the idea and then watching you both plan and then execute such a great looking cake. This turned out great although, I can't help but think that the "flower" maybe could have been made from white chocolate? You did better with it than I ever could, even trying to make a dragon fruit look like an AI flower. Looks great, sounds like it was delicious!

I think agar agar jelly would have been great for this project, it provides the translucency of the dragonfruit portion and it would have been easier to mould too. Coincidentally, it also tastes great with pandan, haha.

@@CSCatos Agar Agar can be poured in layers. You'd just have to let the previous layer cool off first. A lot of agar agar desserts come in layers. :)

Not to offend you one bit ok. But even a Professional pastry chef would have a hard time making a cake that look exactly like an image. Image don't have texture. Remember the trend that was online you made a video of you trying it. You add to cut paper I think and fill it with icing .I love it. Was so great. I think that is what you would need to make make the icing for that kind of cake. If I would cut ANY fruits and make it look like that. I would have NO fingers left. Congrat Laurie! That is one hell of a cake.🥳🥰

I think we're already too involved with technology and it makes me nervous to think of "relying" on it even more. I think this kind of IA "art" its kinda like creating a song just by using music samples. And if you are not getting the consent of those samples, paying for them and crediting them properly then you are copying and stealing.

AI images are not art. Art is made by human beings. What you created is art. AI is fine for inspiration, but it can never take the place of real artists. The world of art would lose its humanity, not to mention it steals the work of real artists to use for its images.

I liked the fact that you took an AI image and used it as inspiration to make the cake come to life in actuality. Well done. The AI cake is 'perfect' but it's made by a computer not a person. So in that instance it wins BUT the fact that you made a cake that looks so damn close to the image is fantastic. And considering your face when you taste tested at the end I'd say you won regardless of what anyone else says.
