Fun fact: While Apoqliphort Towers was the competitive monster that coined the term "Towers," the first one in the game the unaffected clause was actually Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes. Had she been a little better (in terms of being summonable), we might have wound up calling these monsters "Deities" instead.

@@Dakka-do4cu Including Magikey, they just straight up have a dude who has a gun and says "Send one, NOW" Also while horrendously useless due to giving your opponent the choice, the age old classic "Share the Pain" is a 2 for 1 that does ignore protections(though not Tribute usage restrictions) And of course the usual slow board breakers these days, like most condition-locking floodgates(TCBOO, Gozen, Battle of Warlords) and Evenly Matched, all are worded in ways that they compel the opposing player to act, rather than directly act

I can't stress enough how much of a nightmare qliphorts were during the prime time of pendulum with og pendulum rules. It was my main nemesis and also my PTSD. Even to this day, it irks me whenever I see the words "Qli" or "Towers". Yang zings were second.

I think the main Problem why Qli is prob more in Peoples Brain is probably because they could abuse Floodgates way more then something like Shaddoll/ Nekroz, i mean back in 2014/15, Qli could Pendel for like 3-4 and in your Turn they would just say "Have fun playing, while i have Vanitys Emptiness and Skill drain, gg ez" and i mean even today Qli is prob still one of the best abuser of Skill drain, since most of there Effects go off on the Extra Deck and not on the Field.

Qliphort did not age as well as the other 2014 archetypes, but it’s still quite a fun deck. A funny fact: Qli works surprisingly well with the Monarch Spell/Trap support because each Pendulum Qli Monster has Monarch Stats

@@Dz73zxxx Well, all Qlis are Earth, so Bystials shouldn’t be an issue for them at all. Links is honestly what gives Qli the most issues. That and the fact they’re not the best users of the extra deck (not that they particularly need it other than having arrows for pendulum summoning)

If tower immune to Link 2 and below or something it could have been something. Also most of generic boss monsters can out Tower easily with their superior attack. The deck needs way more buff as a whole to stay in the meta. Right now the best way to play Qli deck is to Limit Removal it for OTK instead of using Tower

I personally enjoy a suboptimal dragonlink grass deck that makes Psychic End Punisher. I usually make exactly PEP plus Masquerena and 1 or 2 extra bodies. Then I get Nibiru’d and pray that PEP alone is enough to win

Back when I played Qli in Triangle format (Shaddoll > BA > Qli > Shaddoll), one thing that REALLY annoyed me is that the summon restrictions stopped me summoning to the opponent's field too. This means no Flying "C" or Ojama Trio to fuck with them

This deck has bittersweet memories for me. It's the deck I used in my last ycs befire quitting, Milan 2014. I had fun, reached day 2 but unfortunately got wrecked by shaddoll artifacts too many times. Back then pendulum was on declaration, so if they mst'd one of your scales, you burnt your one pendulum summon. Also, I was on towers, and back then nobody was using it. It made the mirror match a cakewalk. What WASN'T fun and made me quit the game, was having a disk getting stolen from me, when they were 60+ $.

I.e., your Helix at this point is unaffected by Rank and Level 3 or below monsters effects.
