I didn’t had much luck with marker mode. Printed around 10 small pyramids to have feature targets for the tracking. Placed them randomly around the part. Tracking is so much better now…. You can also use crumbled blue tape.

Fun project, and great video. I didn't know that you could edit the point cloud in Revo Studio. Thank you. This will come in handy. It looked to me, at 3:30 in the video, like the scanner was picking up the table on the other side of the turntable, not the reflection. One easy trick is to put the turntable on the edge of a table so that everything on the other side of the turntable is outside the range of the scanner, which you somewhat accomplished by turning the camera to the angle where only a small part of the table was beyond the turntable. Also, the new Revopoint Mini is supposed to be even better for small objects, but it looks like the 2.0 is doing just fine for this.

Thanks a lot! I am currently looking more into 3d reconstruction work. Will also do another project end of November, probably trying again with the iPhone scanner 😉

Great video. I am finally trying out my POP 2 after buying it almost a year ago and have not had good success yet. I am trying to scan a hot tub water spout plate that is clear for a friend of mine because the part is obsolete. I sprayed it down with AESUB scanning spray but still have issues. Is there a way I can send a pic of the part and see if you have any suggestions? I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you

Sure, I created a new 3d-printing-general channel in our discord community. Let's discuss. You can also upload pics: discord.com/channels/554332400998547486/1222855177326034965
