Interesting. I did a similar modification to a Singer 66 red eye. Man, it flies. But thanks to its weight, it doesn't jump all over the place. I'll stick with all metal machines, thank you. Nice presentation
@SewingMachineRepairGuy4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I can see how that would be a straightforward upgrade. This machine is heavier than a lot of plastic machines, but not anywhere near a model 66.

Can you speed up singer sewing machine? Pedal modifications? Love the repair instructors.keep them coming
@petersiliekrause22034 жыл бұрын
That was fun to watch 👍🏻 Especially, because there was no risk of destroying one of MY OWN machines 😂 Aren’t you afraid, that some of the plastic gear parts inside might not survive the higher speed in the long run (like: Being worn out really fast due to higher friction at higher speed)?

Yes, I like to live dangerously, lol.

Sewing Machine Repair Guy I see 😉 Was this type of machine generally built slow-sew (and if: Is that intended or simply misconstructed?), or is it a phenomenon that only occurs on this specific machine?

Only a LITTLE faster!!?? Wow, that's almost as fast as an industrial machine! You could set it in it's own table (or even a good heavy wooden base) and it wouldn't jump around like that. I'm curious to know your opinion about the plastic components. Do you think they'll hold up under that speed, even knowing it wouldn't be run that fast 100% of the time? That original motor was SO very underpowered! It's surprising to me that Juki would make a machine with such a weak motor. I'm not very knowledgeable with regard to motors and electricity, and I know you were making a comparison based on watts, but how did they compare from an amps standpoint? This was a fascinating video!

i dont know about sewing machines specifically, but many times foot pedal speeds can be adjusted if you take them apart and adjust the pot inside. my ancient kenmore recently has gotten CRAZY slow, like one stitch per second, maybe even less). i havent tried to fix it yet but thats what i will check first. if that doesnt work and it needs a new motor then i will just get a different machine cause i can get old sewing machines for 30-50 bucks easy. they are all over marketplace and thrift stores. and i like old machines better than new ones.

Maan !! That is something ..I add some weights with magnetic and double sided tape .It did not jump . Then I change it to more permanent solution with flat steel weight attached to the base with screws . It worked like a dream. Now I have 50% more time for chasing garls maan..Kit will be perfect.

haha what a fun video. a doubt the Juki h 353z, what engine power could it have? .will it be a good machine to be able to do everything at home? sew canvas from time to time, felt, very fine clothes

Hello! This was interesting. If you service a Kenmore 10, 385-12490, I would like your opinion on how to disengage a reverse stitch that get stuck (keep stitching on reverse) after releasing the reverse knob. Thanks!

But is it worth it? Is the cost of the mod ( machine, mod parts and labor) cheaper than buying a model that already has that speed?

Hi, Repair Guy, of course, nowadays (2024, 4 years after you posted that vid) you'd just print out that elusive gear on a 3D printer. By the way, Juki is Japanese and means "heavy machine". A pity they aren't made in Japan.

@michaeltexeira61853 жыл бұрын
Very dangerous operation,,,when drilling the pulley,,,,,holding with your hands,,,a vice should be used to hold the pulley,,,,a bench drill was safer,,,also. When you drill the pulley,,,the thickness is weakening,,,,,,,,also. When increased speed the parts,,,cannot handle the extra speed,,,,and will break,and wear out faster,,,,I also noticed the hook and needle settings is off. The hook is touching the hook point. This machine will not last long.
