my only questions are; Did u check where the academy key is normally?, Or towers where memory stones usually are? Talismans are rewards for the early catacombs in limgrave so maybe try there? i had to catch up and just finished part one as im writing this. talk again in 11.5hrs.

I absolutely hate Fire Giant Phase 2. I found it way easier to just fight him on foot. But once you get him low enough that bullshit straight on fire attack is basically undodgeable. You can't roll back, around, or through it and even if you time Torrents Iframes to when it hits you, the flames go on so long that as soon as you're on the horse he's blasted out from under you and you die anyway. The only way to avoid it is to be on Torrent the entire time so you're already moving at horse speed when he begins the attack. I almost killed him 8 times and died to that attack until I finally got lucky enough to tank through it. Bad attack and the canary in the coal mine for things to come.

i normally just run to the left at a certain angle and dodge it just fine, its his eruption attack that kills me most times, and the slow fireballs that seemingly come from nowhere

I'm guessing it's just FromSoft being FromSoft regarding why Malenia was both Phases in one Fight while all other two phase bosses were seperated. FromSoft probably coded them as one fight instead of two seperate ones in some cases. What i feel is funny tho is that there's errors in how the game works these. In my DS3 Rando, Cinder replaced Curse-rotted Greatwood but it was 2nd Phase Cinder so Cinder should theoretically be a 2-phase fight... However Cinder was replaced by Yhorm for me and after killing Yhorm there was no second Boss. Honorable Mentions tho: Sister Friede and Ariandel and Black Flame Friede are the same Boss-fight. the first version of Friede however is a seperate entry. Demon in Pain & Demon from below are the same Boss-fight as Demon Prince.
