Good job. Look forward to your 70.3 predictions and actual times. Also like how you report on your equipment.

First of all: Congratz on your first Olympic triathlon! Be proud of yourself. Things you might want to improve from my personal view: Place your stuff better in transition. Learn to take of a wetsuit, this looked way to slow. You might want to use jelly on ankles / hand wrist area to get faster out of it. I believe your bike goal is set to low, you seem to be around as good as I am on the bike according to zwift etc. I guess you should aim for 33km/h on this kind of course. You took your running gel to late, take it nearly directly after the bike. It takes time until you can use the energy of this gel. Where can you most likely develop the fastest: Swimming. Get a good body posture and good breathing technique. You need to reduce drag. Swimming is a highly technical sport. Invest your time in slower technical sessions with swimming drills. Be aware when to use power in your stroke, it’s definitely not in the catch phase. Where you have been really good: Running, when you can run nearly as good as your peak performance while running this is awesome and really insane. But this might also be an indicator that you could’ve pushed harder on the bike.

Thanks for all the tips! I definitely need to work on taking the wetsuit off quicker, I'll definitely practice it a bit before the next event. I went for a conservative bike split because I'm worried about using up all my energy and then having nothing left for the run. As it's still my first time doing this distance I want to just make sure I can finish strong. Next time I'll have more of a baseline and know how far I can push myself without bonking.

Great performance Jarrod. You know your abilities very well and don't give yourself enough credit with your predictions. Or you are a bit like me and you like to make sure that you hit your predicted times. Training looks like it's progressing well and you should gain confidence from this event for your half Ironman. The half is definitely a different animal and nutrition and pacing will be key. I'm confident that you will get it figured out and have a great performance. Take care and thanks for letting us join along in your training and racing. Take care.
