It's the "hook" of the premise. The "Odd Couple" formula. Felix is the anal, well put together, always prim and proper. Oscar is the free spirit who is often unkempt, dresses poorly for the situation, and in general messy. This mix is timeless comedy gold.

the measure of good manners is how you treat others that don’t have any!
@warribe
@warribe Жыл бұрын
Honestly, not to me. To me the way a person treats someone that can’t do anything for you is a matter of character, of essence. That isn’t changeable, and after you’re no longer a child, there’s no school of good manners that will teach you that.
@victorcates9330

Being able to function with grace is a nice-to-have. But it can be a double-edged sword. If someone serves you swill and you're obliged to eat it and compliment the chef in the interests of being polite, then they might serve the dish again the next time. Good manners can become an exercise in futility if your civility is mistaken for friendship. If you're being fastidiously courteous to someone you hate, then it's possible you're doing them the disservice of wasting their time while smiling as you're forced to eat unholy swill that might come with their hospitality. At the high end of manners, it's silly if it means that you waste the time of the other party. I was raised by wolves. Respect was a value that trumped civility a lot of the time. And grace would require that you didn't make people feel uncomfortable. There are various ethics that might trump mindless performance. However, at the low end of manners, I could do without being forced to see food inside someone else's mouth.
@druncle1977

@@victorcates9330 In Denmark, we call this a bear service, or bjørne tjeneste if you will. It means that you're doing something for somebody that doesn't actually benefit them. Like giving a beer to a alcoholic is doing the alcoholic a bear service. It's not polite to lie, be honest always. If you don't like what is being served, it's okay to say: Sorry, but this particular kind food isn't to my liking. There is nothing impolite about politely telling the truth.

Well, yes, but I believe it's really marked by how you treat anyone. In my opinion it ought to be the same for everybody; use good manners no matter who you're with or where you are, regardless of your company's status or behavior. This isn't to say you should be a doormat, you can be polite and even elegant while calling out poor treatment in someone else if you do it correctly. When someone is consistently kind and well mannered, that's how you see their true character.

Hazel and brown are both called brown by men. Men use simplified color naming. We can see and notice the difference. But we just call both brown for simplicity. In case there is a need for more exact determination of the color, we use color codes such as when buying a bucket of paint or when using graphic design software.

You never know when it comes in handy… I was invited to eat in a very fancy hotel during my work interview day as an equine vet and had on steel capped boots, jeans and a polo, …but we met the rest of the practices staff and had a three course dinner, all the while every move of mine was being judged by the ‚Ice Queen‘, the wife who was the small animal doc. I was very nervous but got the job, so my ant‘s constant nagging about table manners finally paid off….and the French education on how to use a whole toolbox of equipment for one meal 😁

Im loving the girlie Candace and Brett videos. Im not even the girliest girl in the world, but i am a girl at the end of the day so these videos are a lovely bit of escapism and a distraction from all the horrible news about wokies and democrats. Philip was delightful.

I know that people here know about the scammer pretending to be brett, with a fake profile picture, sending a fake comment to every single person here. But if this fake Brett keeps appearing it must be because there are a few people texting him back. So, Don't text him, he is obviously not Brett.

Men don't necessarily have "weak" handshakes when shaking a woman's hand. gentleman just understand that they should not give a full strength handshake to a woman because they don't want to hurt the lady. My wife insisted once that I give her a handshake as if I was shaking a man's hand.

This was just too hilarious. Something I normally wouldn't be remotely interested in, but these two are great together.

I know, I've been waiting for Brett to post a new video and I saw she posted this one but it didn't seem interesting... When I realized she hasn't posted any other ones. I decided to check it out and I'm so so glad I did. It was so fun and loving and silly and it just made me laugh and feel like I was just hanging out with my friends❤

It's kinda funny to see a fellow South African teach English high society etiquette to two Americans in England. Afrikaaners Here call English speaking South Africans Souties, But to be honest if you don't have an Afrikaans accent you immediately get called a soutie even if you speak fluent Afrikaans so the word seems to have lost it's meaning and I'm rambling. Cool video though, Learnt alot!

How to be an English lady: Step 1: Don't wear a leather miniskirt. Don't get me wrong, Brett looks fantastic in that outfit, but it's not what I associate with 'high society'.

Now I loved this video. Having been to England, it is amazing how different we really are. I was also fascinated how we both spoke the same language and did not have a clue as to what we were talking about. Have to get outside of London and listen to Northern UK.

Such a great video 🙂 Etiquette really is important. I frequently see people eating with their hands and wearing pyjamas outside. Our country really has lost its way. As a side note, I’m Cornish and it’s always jam first here. The cream is the nicest part, so you want that tastiness to touch the top of your mouth when you bite in to it. I hope you enjoyed your stay in our nation’s capital. God bless 🇬🇧

OK. Grammar police, help me out here. Someone asks "How are you?" and I reply "I am good." - is this not, in fact, correct grammar? They kind of glossed over it quickly, but I would say "I am good. I do well." If I didn't misunderstand, I think they were going for "I am well." Is "well" not an adverb? Inquiring minds...
