Mine was insane, nobody but my teachers and me could read it. Random capitalization. I was also very impatient, fast, and focused on speed. A lot of times I would also write the letters several times over in the same spot. I’m also incredibly inconsistent.

One of my hobbies in high school was trying different handwriting styles/"fonts" My current handwriting is very simplified to the point that whether I'm writing a lowercase i, uppercase I, lowercase L, or number 1 is based completely on context. I skip the dot of lowercase i and j I also skip the bit that sticks up in lowercase m, n, r, and u. My u and v look similar because of it so context helps immensely. basically a lot the letters I write are based on the context of the word I'm spelling. My handwriting is actually very neat and no one has had trouble reading it... except my mom* *she always writes in cursive that no one except her brother can read

I do the same thing with making different 'fonts' when I'm bored in class. If I'm not writing slowly though, my handwriting is way worse and inconsistent. Because of that, basically none of my handwriting on the pages in my notebooks or on papers looks the same, even though most of the time it is neat and good.

Well, as someone who has summer works with me writing on pen&paper, i can say it's really good improvement, as it's more good and keeps the rhythm. In my school (since i was in elementary), we used to do many things with pen&paper stuff, it was also hard for me with the writing, but somehow, after 5th grade, my handwriting still looks good, even if a bit big letters

Looks like your Lava Lamp might be running a bit too hot. If you get a dimmer it will help the flow be more constant and the wax won't stay on the top as much.

I did something similar but with my cursive. I made it my goal for a summer to get my writing to look readable by writing the entire script for the Bee Movie. I did not get far in the 6 days I was consistent for and then I just stopped.

I've always had a lot of trouble with handwriting, and I've been made to feel a lot of shame about it. Even as an adult my parents will make comments about it (when mine is no less legible than my mom's handwriting). When it comes down to it, I can make it legible by slowing it down enough if I need to like... address an envelope or something, but the only time I regularly write by hand in adulthood is in my planner, and that's for my eyes only, so there's no need for it to be readable to anyone else. Handwriting is no longer a necessity, more of a hobby, and people should totally do it as a hobby! Calligraphy especially is cool as shit! But it's a little bit cathartic that the thing I was shamed for so much as a kid is pretty much useless now :)

Greetings from Germany, I have to do all my paperwork in the laboratory on real paper and by hand. They are telling me they want to digitalize the paperwork, but we are a pharma company and that makes it way more difficult to change to digital stuff. Because all the shit hast to be secured against data loss in a special way, the program has to be tested, validated and tested again. So maybe I can fill out my QC protocols on a pc in like 10 years. 👍 Also, Germany is unbelievably far behind when it comes to digitalization.

I understand with the digital age handwriting seems like it'll become obsolete but I'm a teacher and handwriting is so important in learning how to spell and read. If you don't know how to form letters correctly then you will use your brain power trying to form the letters and your brain will be too exhausted to actually think how to spell the word. If you practice handwriting then eventually you will form the letters without thinking and so your brain power will be focused on actually spelling the word. Yes when we go digital and there is spell check and all that but you still need to actually learn the patterns of spelling. If you know how to spell it leads to you being able to read. If you can read fluently then you are able to comprehend what you read. Handwriting might not seem important anymore but it really is beneficial in the long run.

I've naturally had great handwriting since I was a kid (I think I was a perfectionist in kindergarten or something), so I find handwriting somewhat enjoyable sometimes. I also never properly learned how to type (I still just use 2 fingers instead of the proper layout, altho I'm still decently fast), so for notes in college I still prefer to write on paper. Also, I'm an engineering student, so I have to do a lot of math, which is always easier on paper than formatting digitally. Also, don't worry about your handwriting. I've seen worse...much worse from my dad. His handwriting is only partially legible to me because I grew up around it. To anyone else it's totally just chicken-scratch.
