Part 1 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3XTh2Vme7h8bac Part 2 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3O1YqGnaJhpmqM Amiga PCB Explorer - www.amigapcb.org/ A couple of corrections: 1) These shipped with a 2MB Chip RAM SIMM - I said the 8MB original... 2) The memory mod to use 32MB SIMMs, you end up with 112MB I think, not the full 128MB

That Joystick Port doesn't give you UP? Sounds like the Rick Astley Paradox 😏

When I worked at Panasonic, some PBX systems used an ionistor instead of clock batteries. When the station is connected to the network, the ionistor is constantly charged. When the power was lost, the settings were maintained from a charged ionistor.I don't remember exactly how long the charge lasted, but it worked quite well as a backup power supply.

im not a fan of turn pin sockets anymore... theyre great if your pins are pefect. and you never take them out. excellent work as always

Yes, I tend to use them when legs are super short, or when I have turned pins to plug into the socket etc. But as you say, for a 1st use - they work OK! Regular removal and they just become sloppy as the pins wear a little on the chip (they get rounded off more and more each insertion).

nice! Been enjoying you vids for quite sometime. Your style of meticulously remove all the DIPs to clean them really impressed me. I'm sorta person if it works don't fix it. Do ples keep it up the good vibes.

"Primer/Spray" for the metal plate of the joysticks ports?. Just zinc paint would be better I believe.

I think I would have just run some 30 ga. wire-wrap wire from the via to the resistor; a lot less fiddly than those really hair-thin PCB traces snaking under the connector. 😊

Something you can use as a solder mask is SLA 3D printer resin. It cures a lot harder and isn't susceptible to being dissolved by IPA.

I wonder if a polarising filter would help on the microscope to help with unwanted reflections? 🤔

I suppose you could use a can of cold zinc spray for the metal parts. 👍

I thought the 4000 had a number of Zorro slots like the 3000?
