We sorta did this with storage auctions about ten years ago with $80. We never spent any of the money and bought probably another 10 units in a year. We threw out most of the trash and sold the rest. We always made money on each unit because we never spent more than $100. After about a year that $80 grew to $3000+

@@redfin382there was a company manipulating the video game market, there is a pretty good video about it, but basically they would sell expensive "collectable" video games to basically themselves, then they would advertise that it sold for an insane price on their own marketplace, both inflating the value of similar items and increasing traffic to their marketplace, the marketplace also happened to be owned by the same people who owned the grading website that set the value of the items 😂 idk how they aren't behind bars, but they manipulated the entire vintage video game market into a bubble that popped extremely hard, they didn't loose value as the supply is still pretty small, but video games as an investment lost all of its credibility demolishing demand 😅

I think they should do this again but not post anything about it until after the challenge was finished so we can see what there sales are when the audience doesn’t know there account ( I’m assuming not saying the audience knew the account name ) while also not having eBay sponsoring it. This would allow the average seller to see what they would be able to expect. I loved the series though not trying to hate on it

This series was a lot of fun, but I would love to see it going again from the start instead of continued. I think the biggest and most important part of this journey was an expected ROI from the first week of over 6000% and direct profit of 1800% within the first week, which is ludicrous and something you never even came remotely close to in the following weeks. The hardest part about doing stuff like this is getting started, and this is not replicable reliably. It was entertaining, but not realistic.
@CarlYota
@CarlYota 7 ай бұрын
Agreed. but the solution to this in reality is investing 1000 in your business from the start and not trying to do it for $10, which is just internet hyperbole to get clicks. It's obviously way easier to work a few dozen hours overtime at your real job or at a part time job than to try to turn $10 into $1000 by flipping garage sale finds, unless you get lucky and find impossible stuff the first week.

A lady I knew some years ago, maybe 20 years, she went to garage sales and bought expensive baby cloths. Pumkin Patch etc. She would go in the morning, make an offer well below asking price, if she got it great. If not she would ask what time they went till. Come back in the afternoon and get a real bargain most times. At the time wages were around $600 a week. She was clearing around 2K a week. It can be done. Good on you men. A lot cry about how tough life is. You start a business with $10, and set the world on fire. Plus the KZbin chanell. Got to love you for that

"Priced things lower in the hopes of a quick sale" THANK YOU.. Finally someone who mentions doing this versus just thinking they can resell at whatever the highest completed auction for a given item was on eBay whether it be new or used. I ALWAYS price lower to try and move product faster, even if it means not making as much. Because the faster I can move the faster I can reinvest the money into more product and just scale, scale, scale. I even bundle items sometimes if I think it will help it to move faster. I don't have to squeeze every penny of profit out of an item like I've seen in some of these vids.

I gave myself a similiar challenge two years ago. I was dropping off at UPS and found $5 in the parking lot. I told my 80 year old roommate that I was going to see what I could turn this $5 into. On way home stopped at a yard sale and found a $5 item that I ended up flipping in 2 weeks for $25. Kept going to yard sales each week and reinvesting my sales into new merchandise. Within a month after firsr sale I had sold over $2000 and profiting over $1700. My business has basiclly ran off that $5 since then for the last 2 years. It is possible but the challenge I am seeing for them is starting with a brand new ebay store and the challenges that come with new seller restrictions. I dealt with those a few years ago when starting my full time business of ebay. I stated my business with a small box of remotes and now have almost 1600 items listed in my ebay store and did it without investing any money into business besides profit. And I did all this after having a stroke and having to change my entire life path. Have been fortunate to have the support of family and friends to help with living expences while I built my business, God bless them all. Now on to the video to see how they did it. Good luck.

Awesome video. I just started flipping. I just sold a silver dollar for 30 bucks that I've had since I was a kid, and sold a game table that we got as a Christmas present for $100. Used $25 of that for supplies, and $75 at the thrift store. About to make, $2k off of everything. I still have hundreds of old dvd and blu rays I don't watch to go through and some video game stuff.

I've been saying I was going to start a resale business for years, and never did. This has really inspired me. I have BOXES off stuff I need to get rid of, and I hate decluttering, so I've put it off. I'll probably do marketplace first, because I hate packing and shipping stuff, but I don't need to make that much money, only a few hundred a month, so we'll see how it goes.

Just be realistic. These guys made 6k in 3 months. That's a yearly profit of 24k. And they had the help of the entire team working full time, the knowledge, apparently infinite garage sales, ebay sponsoring the thing, youtube promoting it (which allowed them to list more items and be at the top of search results), a pre-existing relationship with a pawn shop owner, their cousin selling them stuff, storage space, etc.
