Can I forge a birthday gift for my Mom that she will love?!?

I need to make a birthday gift for my Mother. She really enjoys hand made gifts and I always try to surprise her with something nice. This year I'm forging a maple leaf dish for her. Will she love it or hate it??
Hand chiseled, forged and shaped maple leaf dish using a dishing swage and wooden mallet.
