When he says that the speedometer was stuck on 66666 remind me of 02 super glide I had.i put a new digital speedo on and a low voltage spike, bad battery, caused it to go to all 666666 17:09 17:09 17:09 Kinda freaked me out, like a bad omen? @@tomparth3398 Talking about odometers I was in Vantage Washington and being in a 1%er club at the time I must have been the least intimidating because a guy filling up his Dyna said "Hey I have to show someone this"..... He took me to his bike and the Odometer said 400,000 exactly. I asked "Have you ever rebuilt the motor"? He said, "NO, just rode it". He put his helmet on and rode away after taking a picture of the odometer.

Dude this is how I learn...watching someone getting there hands dirty...I feel more confident each time I see you do these...but your like the perfect teacher for me...I was gifted a 2001 honda shadow spirit...they left it on my sidewalk and my son found it when he took out the trash...they left a note in the velcro for the seat screws and left the title keys and a bill of sale in my mailbox and it's took me about 6 years to get all the bugs and money up to get it done...n it's a process for me because I'm like look...I don't wanna ride if I'm gonna get stranded and have to figure it out roadside ...so I've done alot myself...had pin holes in the tank and instead of buying a new one or rigging it I took it to a radiator repair shop and had them nickel line my tank...cost me 70 bucks n 2 days...had to replace a cylinder...rejet carbs...new fork seals...ect...new tires n wiring and just getting it cleaned up...finally about to paint this winter...it's been a process but I'm about to where I want to be but this is my dream bike...I've wanted this bike since 2001

So glad you are on your own!! Way better to watch! Tip: Pour a bit of oil in each spark plug hole before you turn it over the first time. You might have scored the piston walls. Also if all the oil is in the crankcase you should have drained some out before turning it over to not overpressurize the oil pump.

Brings me back to a year ago when I bought my first bike at age 17, and 2001 Harley Sportster 883. Little did I know that it had "cruise control", aka the throttle return cable was completely broken. Had a lot of fun memories working on that bike, and some not so good ones of lowsiding it. But I'm grateful because it has brought me to where I am today.

I ended up watching it in its entirety, and I found myself grinning when you got the bike running! SO glad you were able to find and buy your dad's bike! Two months later ,after scrounging everything else , rewired her ,belt drive and a few more improvements ,licenced and on the road .Loved every minute of the restoration ,ran like a top ,never let me down .Could listen to her idle till it run outta gas ,what a sound .Didn,t have another vehicle then ,so why not ,i rode,er year round ,thru winter ,up here in Canada, then took a year long ride thru the Rockies ,stopping every so often to make a few bucks ,making new freinds and partying of course .Wouldn,t trade the experience for anything ,every young man/gal should just go for it at least once in life . Except for recently ,I,d get an irristable urge every spring ,to drop everything , quit work ,and buzz off down the highway . I did love my nuckle ,but the superglide was my true love (of harleys ).

So few people get to start a channel with the kind of experience you've gained over the past few years, and then almost instantly grab 60K subscribers and have your, what, second video? Get 1/2 million views in a week. That's quite a boost and a testament to your personality and the quality of your friendship with Sean. Congrats, happy for you. -some random dude on the internet

Awesome that found your dad’s bike and that they finally sold it to you. Sad that it sat up for nearly 20 years, but I’m sure you will make some great memories of your own with it. Loving the channel.

I was smiling from ear to ear when I found out it was your dads bike originally, I can totally understand your passion for the bike.

So cool to watch thank you. I have a 68XLCH that I inherited from my father that hasn’t run since 1977 and hope to be getting it running soon. It’s a magneto bike, so the startup prep will be different. Thanks for the inspiration.

I learnt to ride on the road on a mates Sportster. No license, no insurance and i put about 40 miles on it on sunny sunday. Years before offroad (field's) i learnt to ride on a DT175 (similar to your IT175). Fun bikes, fun times.
