Love it, Mal - Adventure workout. Walking, squatting, deadlifting. Good balance on pulling that Beast backwards in the sand. It's great getting the different angles while riding too. I Love Beach and Sand Riding. Yet to do it on a big bore bike though, fully loaded. Running lower tyre pressure may have assisted? Looking forward to the next two episodes 🙂

Great video and amazing scenery! Wish I could ride on our beach here in New Hampshire USA. I was wondering if you disabled the adaptive ride height when stuck in the sand, would it of helped having my ground clearance?
@oldmanspeedadventures5 ай бұрын
Cheers mate yeah we are lucky here to get access to some cool stuff! I think I had the bike in Off Road Plus which disabled the ride height, ie leaves it in high position, I think??? But if I ever get stuck again I'll check for sure! All the best to you!

Fantastic. Well, I suppose hitting difficult soft sand at Freshwater towards the end of the big day and being somewhat buggered (you would have spent lots of energy getting out of the bog near the lighthouse) that your concentration and energy levels weren't exactly ideal for maneuvering any big bike in soft sand.
@oldmanspeedadventures Жыл бұрын
Yeah pretty spot on, had to pick my battles thus decided to camp in at Freshwater, didnt want to deal with too much soft, deep sand that day!

too lazy! Also such a low profile tyre on the rear, it won't really squash out much as per a 4wd tyre or a larger profile adv tyre. But having said that, yes it would have assisted a small amount Im sure, next time Ill give it a hit.

MAL YOU ARE MISSING ONE BIT OF SOFT SAND RIDING. IN ADDITION TO LEANING BACK AND BEING ON THE THROTTLE, TRY WRIGGLING THE BARS BACK AND FORTH QUICKLY. IT CUTS A PATH IN THE SAND AND GIVES YOU STEERING ABILITY.

It's a video mate. I think I explain riding in sand is not easy. I think I also self deprecate about my ability in sand with sarcasm. I have raced mx in sand, raced cross country in sand, a loaded adventure bike is a different thing. Every minute was a learning experience. In the next vid I explain how I adapt. Stick around. I actually point out why I crashed in the sand. I'm also not embarrassed as I clearly say in the video. Interesting to hear what your opinion is on video 2 when I do actually give some sandriding advice. I'm assuming your from WA or somewhere that has a lot more sand riding. Anyways take it as you will, it's an entertainment video, if I was a great rider at all aspects of off road would make for a pretty boring video. There's always experts that will have an opinion on whatever I do, hillclimbs, descents, logs, even mx, being an ex pro mx and off road racer I'll still get other riders criticise on what and how. But I'll do me. Cheers for the input, let me know after episode 2 I go into my mistakes in the sand, and how I adapted on the day.
