Exactly. It would be a massive waste to have the same amount of thrusters on the front because you never actually need them both at the same time.

You wouldn’t think weight would be an issue in space, but the more massive the ship, the greater the thruster force required to accelerate/decelerate the ship. The main engines and fuel supplies are typically the largest pieces of equipment in terms of mass and size so doubling the number of engines so they’re pointing forward and backwards when you only need thrust in one direction at a time is a waste.

@@georgedorrin8403 Also, cost. Massive ship thrusters aren't free, they probably make up a decent percentage of the entire resource requirement to build a ship. No point wasting resources on something that doesn't really serve a purpose.

There are also things like reaction wheels. Little sets of spinning wheels that can control the pitch and yaw of a spacecraft by spinning faster or slower, thus changing the total centrifugal force applied to the craft.

They flip the ship to decelerate in nearly every sci-fi story I ever read that addressed that issue.

You could have gotten more research points from the moon event. You could have done both options. Like in real life, you could exploit the security stuff to get some research points, then dismantled the base. It takes one extra cycle, but research points seem somewhat rare here, so you should probably get as many as you possibly can. You said that you don't have access to the infirmary, but you do. You just didn't notice it. I could be wrong, but I think it's the one right next to the houses in the build menu. Also, in the next episode I would highly recommend getting a few insect farms and doing as much progress as you can before activating the engine. I've seen someone progress a bit past activating the engine and you are going to want as much done as you can before that.

Just a little note on the Insect-Burger idea: Already on the markets ;) The Larvae of Alphitobius diaperinus are declared save for humman consumption and for example burger patties out of them are on the market in the EU. Mostly marketed as "Buffalo Worm" because "Larvae of the black dung beetle" really doesnt sell so well...BUT! Stuff actually tastes good and needs a LOT less of basically everything per kg of Protein.

Hey, Big tip some choices are tricks, even though they may not seem like it, for instance the choice about the Lunar Lab or U.N Lab is one. If you have a separate save for the game choose the Information instead of the materials you will see what I mean.. ps keep up the good Content 👍

In space you can use a flip maneuver to use your big thrusters to slowdown and stop...check out The Expanse TV series. It demonstrates this type of flight in space.

23:00 You are correct that you need to stop the ship somehow, but second set of thrusters isn't needed because you may as well just flip yourself with tiny side thrusters and fly the second half of the way with primary thrusters in front.

Hey,Z1 Research and build the probe launcher in the next episode and use it to scan and search in the space of the solar system in the galaxy/solar system view you will find an hidden active spaceship/planet and after scanning it with your probe you will start an event with them, just a heads-up give in their demand/request it is highly worth it. think of the probe scanner as a metal detector you need to find the hidden event area then be patient and scan throughout the space and wait for the probe to pickup the frequency signals they will all go quite high in the live signal graph screen hope to see you search for it in the next video.

Hey Z, the moon event security exploit was talking about Confidential Research Data, as in Secret. So you skipped out on free Research. In addition, even after exploiting the breach, you would have been allowed to deconstruct the base. Pay attention to the wording in the reports and the options. If the report mentions a danger to a site it could mean you can only chose one option from multiple. But, if an option mentions it would deal with the threat then that option would allow you to collect potentially everything from the site. Others you might have to think about to chose the best path to preserving the loot you could get. Clues can be in the reading.

you actually decelerate over time but realistically you would not need the big amount of thrust for space travel that thrust would be small amounts so you could stop remember there is 0 gravity in space so a little trust goes a long way (like this so he sees this) (i have my notifications on and i want my phone to blow up too lol)

Have you considered turning the ship in zero-g so the engines point to the direction you need thrust? Either to accelerate, decelerate or change direction.

Every time I see this first part, I always cringe when Battista comes on. The sounds of him eating while talking to us is just.... no. *laughs at Z constant hesitation to make more depots even while he hates that the stockpiles are in the way* On the plus side, he found the farm tech this time as opposed to his last try with the demo when he missed it and never did it, thus loosing his crew to starvation. Regarding the red marks from the airlock placement, it was the Sector 1 sign that was blocking you.

everything in this game is awsome .. UNTILL... you make your first jump... and from that point on you have Exactly ZERO Time to Enjoy any aspect of the game because for some UNKOWN REASON even when you ship is stood still it's Hull is getting Constant Damage Which you need to Constantly Restore Which Constantly Require Resources to Repair... so if you are like me and just like base building/settlement manager games DO NOT BUY THIS You have to have the Game constantly paused so you can Click and order and que buildings because the Extra 10 seconds it take to make a desicion can cost you the game Totally Ruins the immersion and gameplay.

That intro bothered too much. Just.. soo many wrong ways to launch a ship like that. They wouldnt launch it from an underground silo, nor that close to a building, nor if they would, wait until -10 seconds to open the doors. The main engines on the shuttle are clearly not used for orbital maneuvers. Just.. so many things wrong with that intro. I know its "Sci-fi, but its way to similar to a NASA shuttle to ignore for the sake of "its the future". Its not THAT far in the future.
