They hotfixed it like a week ago so an army shouldn't run away if it can win, but before then...yeah, ambushes were mostly just picking off units as they tried to leave. And if the enemy was in march, free army wipe.

@@Tachii31 The hotfix was so that the AI is more willing to stand and fight. They will still commit suicide by fleeing while on force march if the balance of power is vastly against them. The fix for that will likely come later.

You know, considering all of the crazy tech the Skaven have, a few of them stealing Gyrocopter blueprints from the Dwarfs, and changing them to be more like fighter planes isn’t the craziest thing to happen. Like, I could see the Skaven canonically do something like this, especially since TTW2's vortex campaign is set off by a Skaven flying a rocket prototype that looks like the twin-tailed comet.

I don't know for Gyrocopters but canonically Thanquol tried to steal a steam tank, but was thwarted by Gotrek and Felix. It was part of the skaven invasion of Nuln that never happened because of these two and ended up with a whole bunch of dead skavens.... Thanquol got of course generously rewarded by the Council of Thirteen for killing a rebellious army XD

fun fact: in the lore a lot of skaven technology comes from stealing human and dwarf tech and pretty much slapping warpstone on it in the Skavenslayer book they, among other things, try (and fail) to steal the steam tank schematics so this is basically the alternate universe in which they succeeded at that and more

Something important: Unless there's a cool kids club version of Esoterica floating around, the mod itself is defunct with it's creator and maintainer having left the scene entirely. This mod does NOT function with the current builds of the game and automatically crashes due to a database error.
