Oh yeah I did this once!! When i was really getting into the Beatles, you know, that obsession phase. Probably 10 years ago. I remember listening to multiple Beatles albums daily for literally months straight, and then I probably tried the quiz for a week or 2 before finally getting it done (edit: meaning getting 100% on the quiz). So much fun!!!

I memorized it by breaking down to albums and singles, my list of singles is 23 as I go with the US version of magical mystery tour, then how many songs on each album, and finally, how many songs written buy John on the album, how many by Paul, etc. It also helps I'm a big fan of all their music and I grew up with it. Saw them on Ed.

When I first started buying records, I could name every track on every record I owned, usually in the correct order. I was able to do that until I hit about 80-90 albums. These days I can't even remember which albums I own! I tried the similar test for songs from Pink Floyd (one of the top groups in my collection), and didn't do anywhere near as good as I thought I would. I didn't try it with The Beatles because I knew I'd miss most of the songs on albums before Revolver. Even though I own all their albums, What I actually play is "The Red Album" plus Revolver through the White album, plus maybe "The Blue Album" or the "#1" album which came out in 2000.

I got 138. One can tell from it what Beatles I listen to. I got every song from Revolver onward except for the 2nd side of Yellow Submarine, Sexy Sadie, and inexplicably Helter Skelter. I got half of the 1st three lps & Help, almost all of Beatles For Sale (only because Beatles '65 was my first Beatles lp as a little kid), and only got 2 songs off of Rubber Soul, which I almost never listen to, though it's embarrassing some of the ones I missed from that lp. I only got Nowwhere Man & The Word lol. What's interesting to me is that I pretty much was done with about 5 minutes left, and only got a handful after that. Another 10 minutes probably wouldn't have helped much, even with a couple of dozen ridiculous misses. They should have included Past Masters where all the singles & B-Sides are. I think I typed in "Thank You Girl" twice! ;-) This was fun, thanks for posting this!

Great job! I'm a huge Beatles fan too and I also would have been tripped up by the early albums. Their songs just aren't as memorable as the later albums, I guess. I like how the quiz automatically places the songs in the right album so that you don't have to. I would've gotten stuck trying to put "Run For Your Life" under Help! because I thought it was on that album instead of Rubber Soul.

I think this is the only property way to do it it's difficult to start but it's guaranteed to flow forward that's how our brain works most efficiently. But everyone hates doing that requires most effort and you start to count how much is left and it messes with your mind.

I tried doing this before watching your video and damn the Beatles have some long song titles. I got 164/221 which was in part to fumbling over some of the longer titles. Abbey Road, Sgt Pepper, MMT, and Rubber Soul were the ones I got down in full. I somehow got all but 2 songs from Beatles for Sale in order, and got all but 2 on Please Please Me. But somehow I drew a blank on half of Help and A Hard Days Night, despite them being like top 6 albums for me. I feel like since I tend to listen to them front to back it's harder to pick out the names of the songs, where the albums I am more picky about the tracks I like on them I process the names more.

At the start of this video I paused it to go and try it myself before watching you attempt (obviously watching it afterwards would be cheating to an extent!). I thought I'd be happy if I got more than 100, but I now see I got 3 more than you! I didn't kick myself with most of the stuff I missed: it was mostly early stuff like with with you, and there were a few songs that I assumed were singles so didn't enter them (including eight days a week, ticket to ride, and All my Loving). However, I apparently forgot the existence of Yesterday (even though it's one of the most famous songs of all time and despite me knowing Help pretty well), and despite getting literally every other song on Abbey Road without any trouble, I forgot "The End". I even got Her Majesty. But no. Not "The End". Total brain fart! Fun game though, thanks for sharing this
