After watching many pros and cons I decided to stick to my 265/65/17. As the reliability was the biggest concern for me I was still on the edge. I have been almost everywhere in VHC with my stock tyers and apart of 2-3 situations I didn't really need bigger tyers. I put new Falcons today... Cheers guys and BIG thank you to Anthony for teaching us all those things. I personally learned A LOT. Every video is new lesson and worth watching 👍

The best lessons are the hardest .. this is typically a young person's question because the older people have already done it and learned it was at best a waste of money and the worst ,unusable .. so the youngster will try to prove us wrong and the cycle of life continues

Im running 275 70 17 falken wildpeaks with 2.5 inch lift and +10 offset rims fit pretty good only a tiny bit of scrubbing at full lock when tyre are below 20psi. Uses slightly more fuel but looks awsum.

So sick of seeing this question... Look... All manufacturers spend boo coo bucks into R & D. They know what is best for the vehicle you’ve purchased, use the size that is specified, it’s just that simple. Reliability will be you issue once you change. Maybe it’s not just the tyre size you need to change. Might just be the vehicle you choose to do the job you want it to. As always, top advice. Keep on keeping on.. 👍👍👍

265/70/r17 increase ground clearance unde rear back diff. with 1,4 cm . This is helping very much in off road . In same time may decrease air in tyre more if have lateral height of tyre higher. So because prado is not coming with perfect fitted tyre for off road using in off road 265/65/r18 or 265/70/r17 is the best ! May keep 2 set of rims one 265/60/r18 on road and second 265/70/17 for off road . In this way i manage the rims of this car !

Hi Anthony. Can you put snow chains on the front wheels of IFS vehicles? i never had a problem in the past with my solid axle shorty.

Great work, you probably will save a heap of people thousands just by educating them. Tbh a stock prado off road already has everything you need.

Awesome info! Love it. Still thinking of going to 265 70r17 or 265 65r18 because it looks better :)

Toorak tractors wouldn’t need bigger tyres, but if you’re doing muddy and rocky tracks up in the high country a wider, higher and larger profile tyre on a smaller rim will make the difference.

What do you think about Spacers? If one goes for a lift, there is high chance of rollovers. So spacers can be live saving. What do u think?

I just cant find a solid answer no matter where i go. Getting a 2022 Hilux sr5, now i have a mate that fit 285/70/17 on 2 inch lift no problem little cutting off the mud flaps. But then I'm reading everywhere you need to do a body mount chop to fit them and bring the casters all the way forward?

Bigger tyres = increased rolling resistance more fuel more money to buy tyres a bigger size not worth it keep it stock been there and done it gone back to stock

Depends on your use case. My offroading consists of the dunes in the UAE. Bigger footprint is straight up better. Yes, more fuel, more $, but if I wanted to save money I would have gotten a yaris.
