Back in the day, a Brazilian KZbinr named TheOneGames (Erico Graça) (R.I.P) achieved legend with the Shaman Starter Deck (only basic cards), defeating Kolento and other professional players. Unfortunately he died of cancer. But, in the Portuguese-Brazilian version, when starting the game on the loading screen, you can hear the introduction of your channel: "E ai, galera, tá tudo sussa?" (Hey, guys, how are you?) - which he used in the videos. This is a tribute from Blizzard for its relevance to the Hearthstone community.

Honorable mention to Noxious, a Canadian player who got Legend running 'Randuin Wrynn', a Classic Priest deck that primarily ran cards that said 'random' on them and other memes like Lorewalker Cho. It wasn't as heartwarming, but the word 'Randuin' would be spoken around the community for years after.

I always thought a run to legend without disenchanting cards (so that you would create decks with the cards you get) would be a fun idea but this was so much more difficult so I dont know if you could ever go back to that.
