I’d never bothered with luxury brands as I was field biologist at the time but 16 years ago my boyfriends’s mother (who was a classy, well dressed woman) bought me a Coach hand bag for my birthday. It looked and felt so luxurious and I thought it was the most beautiful hand bag I had ever seen. I felt so proper and glamorous whenever I used it for formal occasions or going out. Good memories! I still have it to this day and it’s still gorgeous.

It's so sad that so many of the vintage gucci bags are plagued with this cheap sticky lining. I found a *sublime* Tom Ford-era fall/winter 1996 runway bag with gold-toned brass piping. The exterior was practically pristine, but the interior lining looked like it was pulled from the Titanic shipwreck. So disappointing! But you really turned this one out, BRAVO! A beautiful bag gets a second chance at life!

Hi Rachel, I have always wondered how people did designer bag rehab. Thank you for showing me your process! I’m super impressed with how it turned out. It definitely doesn’t look like the same bad at all! My first designer purse was a Vera Bradley that I bought in the early 90’s (not even sure if Vera is considered designer or luxe). Anyway, I bought one of her mini backpack purses because it was so beautiful with the African safari zebras and it’s perfect for the 80% travel schedule I was on. Its price shocked me, and I was lucky to get it on a 1/2 off sale due to the store’s downsizing. I loved it!

WOW, at one point, I honestly thought that this bag was going to end up in the trash, but you knocked it out of the park girl…you really did it, and what a gorgeous bag she is!!! My very first designer bag was a Dooney & Bourke Gladstone all weather leather bag in black pebble leather with British tan Vachetta leather trim and handles. I bought it at a department store called Ivey’s back in 1989, and I paid $332.00 + tax (which felt like a million dollars back then!). But I still have that bag, and I’ve taken such good care of it that it still looks practically new, and it still has that yummy leather smell. If I could give anybody any advice on keeping your leather bags looking good, it would be to always keep them stuffed with tissue paper, towels or anything that helps them hold on to their shape when your not carrying them, and condition them twice a year with leather conditioner…those two things are the life of your leather bags. Great job Rachel!!!😊👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I just uploaded a video redoing a painting and i think my verbiage was more along those lines. Wording matters, youre right and I don't want mine to sound negative. I tried to teach my kids not to say "can't " and to instead say things like "I'm not able to yet". I have some videos where it's a process I've done before and I feel more confident teaching. This one was definitely us learning together. 💕

I think you did a fantastic job on rehabbing this bag!!!! Anyone would love to have this to carry year-round! My first "designer bag" was also a Dooney & Burke. I, too, saved up to buy the bag. Mine was black pebble leather with the duck on one side. I was so proud of myself when I could buy that bag - I took it home and my young daughter colored the eye of the duck with a black ink pen! I could have strangled her! lol Years later, I saved again and bought an LV from Neiman Marcus in Dallas. I did not register either bag, and years ago, I gave the LV to my daughter to carry. She carried it for a short while, then stuck it up in her closet unprotected. The leather dried out and there is a tear in the leather on the front of the bag. I've wondered if I could take the bag to a shoe tailor to see if they could sew up the tear, then I could work on rehabbing the leather. I've had the bag 40 years, so it is about to be considered vintage.

I am amazed I don't even know how got to your channel but I really enjoyed watching you do magic. I would have been far to scared to do any of it except getting it wet very used to saddles get wet the joy of soaping them and polishing to a shine so satisfying. I don't have a designer bag but my saddles are extremely good brands.

Thank you so much! Oh gosh I saw an Hermes saddle online the other day and thought about how incredible it was!

Love watching you rehab a bag! Honestly I’m not a designer purse kinda girl, but I have relatives who are and would love the LV vent buttons! I do have a nice leather Jack George’s bag that I thrifted to sell, but decided to keep and use for myself. Nothing fancy but nice quality.

I'm guilty of keeping a good bag i intended on selling. Haha. Whoops. You're entered!

My first designer bag was a white pebbled leather Dooney Burke bag as well. Still have her and use your rehab suggestions to keep her looking stylish - Thank you for making these videos!!

What a keeper! I hope you get many more years out of her!

What an amazing job! You gave me hope ( and tools) for my 2-3 Guccis that have deteriorated inside. They were perfect when purchased. I would really like to know what causes this deteriorating on seriously expensive bags. Mine were purchased pre- loved, but still. Thanks for all your tips and tricks.!

I have a red one of these Gucci bags and it’s so sticky. Thanks for sharing this video!!

Oh I hope you get to rehab it! Don't forget to lay down a trash bag. Hahaha

I would of been tempted to cut out the lining! Lol. You did great! Awesome job!

At one point I sure was considering it.

Great Job! I had faith in you but love the touch with the belt buckle. My first designer bag was a Dooney & Burke satchel with matching wallet and key fob. My best was this year I invested in an LV Signature Neverfull I call Olivia.

Olivia sounds fancy!

Would enamel paints such as Testers be a better option on the tarnished metal zipper pull? Less chance of paint peeling off than with the acrylic?

Mine was a Coach bag that my husband purchased for me. It is black and like a saddlebag, over the shoulder with a front flap. I love that bag. I still use it from time to time. My best purchase is a Dooney Burke Red Plaid Wool with a Brown suede Bottom and Black leather handle. I found it a garage sale where a man was dumping his wive's things for $5.00 . I purchased other things that I resold but I still have that bag.

I´ve never been inerested in owning designer items, but last year I bought my first pre-loved designer clutch by Ferragamo, then I bought a handbag from Liz Claiborne and a green and cream handbag by Ralph Lauren, both vintage.

Well done you inspire me to rehab instead of trashing bags.

Ahhhh saving this bag for later!!!!! I bought a pouch with the same interior was so DUSTY. Did you have that issue?? The store didn't know if it was fake or not due to the lining. I knew it was real so for 30 bucks it's mine!!

I enjoyed your transformation of the Gucci bag. My first designer bag was a Dooney and Bourke, which I brought about 43 years ago. I didn’t know anything about Dooney and Bourke. I just like the leather style doctor bag. I also brought the bag from Macy’s. I Donated the bag to Goodwill as the handle twisted and I did not know that I could send it back to Dooney and Bourke to get fixed. True story.

Great job on the bag. I thought I was extravagant on a Liz Clayborne bag in the 90s.

This was such a fun video to watch! I used to love rehabilitating old vintage bags! But I don’t think I have the patience for it anymore. 😅 anyways, I’m a new sub! 🎉 My first designer bag was the Louis Vuitton bumbag. So glad I score it before the big price increase and discontinued. But I’ve been debating if I want to sell or keep it. Haha

Hi, first time to watch your video❤. I loved your repaired Gucci bag🎉 My first designer bag was a Lous Vitton Boston bag. For some reason, it was very popular in Tokyo at that time and I still have it in my closet.
