I went through the exact same thing with my vintage Gucci lunch box type bag. The inside was BLACK sticky, peeling, junk. It got on EVERYTHING!!! Then I just dunked it in the sink. I was so close to throwing it out. Now, I love the bag so much and it looks great! A real testament to the quality of the leather!

My first designer bag was from the bins. A vintage Bottega Veneta that I still have. I never bought a luxury bag new. Really enjoyed this video. My top-selling and favorite things to buy, sell, and collect are vintage leather bags. I had no idea that leather stain pens existed. I use Edge Kote and Agelus leather paints but didn't know about the pens. Going to get them soon, I think! I love this bag, especially with that green belt. Gorgeous.

Hi Rachel, I have always wondered how people did designer bag rehab. Thank you for showing me your process! I’m super impressed with how it turned out. It definitely doesn’t look like the same bad at all! My first designer purse was a Vera Bradley that I bought in the early 90’s (not even sure if Vera is considered designer or luxe). Anyway, I bought one of her mini backpack purses because it was so beautiful with the African safari zebras and it’s perfect for the 80% travel schedule I was on. Its price shocked me, and I was lucky to get it on a 1/2 off sale due to the store’s downsizing. I loved it!

I personally would have removed the lining and replaced it..yes designer bags may lose value, but the mess it made would have warranted the risk of selling it as a full restoration

I have never really had a real "designer" bag Until recently, yet it wasn't a purchase. It's a knock off evidently, but when I first saw it. It's got papers and everything, but because of the imperfection like this is gotta be a knock off. But the universe gave me a little itty bitty. Louis Vuitton and it is so cute. I love it but it's Quality of workmanship. It's not that of Louis Vuitton.. I mean, it looks OK from the distance, but if somebody closely examines it, they know it's not real, knew it once I really examined it. I'm going who in the world's gonna really donate their Louis Vuitton with it's papers, but maybe so, but it was a very expensive bag was over $9000. Because the paperwork and receipt was there, I was flabbergasted and I started to cry because my heart just ached for Whoever had purchased it going. Oh my God those poor people paid a lot of money for a purse that isn't even real.

I feel you. Sometimes those knock offs can be super convincing!
