remember when you dicovered with worm man, that you could right click an "walk to" through woods so the auto pathing around the trees would prevent your characters shirt from being ripped by the branches? i guess, the exact same thing might come in extremely handy in this series: right click and "walk to" from house to house to conveniently autopath your way over these narrow plank bridges ...would be a shame to see this series end prematurely, if your character fell and broke his legs / burned in that imaginary lava of his by the way, great PZ challenges, entertaining content

My interpretation of the characters backstory: he’s convinced that the apocalypse was caused by spores from flowers in the grass, and absolutely refuses to touch the grass. Little does he know the infection is a result from solar flares radiation creating a mutation in the appendix, which he had removed. That house is my first house ever! I knew the neighborhood, kinda.. Assuming that top right is north, you can find a church at north-west, but by the way you move, it would be pretty far, since the distance is probs 2~3 houses. On the far west, you can find a mall and some office I think, but the distance is 4 houses. Good thing is they all are in straight line. Far north beyond the church is a large mechanical shop and a small office with a storage I think, but probably quite impossible to get there.. On far south, it takes probably 3~4 blocks to get to a space with fence, I forgot what it is tho, but might not worth it in this kind of challenge.. On far south-east, there is a school, but probably forget it too, a lot of effort to reach. Tips from me regarding the dead bodies, create a campfire? on top of a deadend plank that 'float', when you started the fire, destroy the path that connects the fire to the other path. So, make sure youve dumped all the dead bodies (very close to it, would be best to be dumped on top of it) first before you started the fire, then lit it once youre ready. Also, try to make a two-path way, only one is enough to eliminate zeds easily by pushing them off, but be careful too!

Thanks! Great feedback again! And yeah, I'm planning on launching every series with a video with plenty of overview and edits like this one from now on. Though I'm not sure if I want to stretch the edits out over the entire vid itself as I've been mulling over in a style similar to that of trmplays, whose videos I sometimes hold as exemplars. It's probably about 3+ hours if extra work, so prevents a greater number of videos, but do you think it would be worth it to launch each video with an abbreviated analysis? I tried some simple animations outlining my objectives with a previous series. Bleh any future pointed feedback would again be super appreciated, especially as the series goes on! I feel like it's one of the last roadblocks for me from making the super duper high quality content I aspire to, and your feedback really helps me improve my patience and sense of composition for these edits

@@ambiguousamphibian I'm gonna respond to both of your comments here. In regards to if you should make it more like Kevin's type of editing in the video you showed me: I don't think so. His style in this video is jumping from highlight to funny moment to joke, etc. This is because he's a comedy channel doing a one-off with no ultimate objective of the game other than to get some laughs and keep people's attention. From what I have seen from your videos, these are your best qualities: educating people about the game through analysis, getting them invested in the character/series, and generally entertaining. Kevin's video style wouldn't work for your style because you aren't going for cheap laughs and funny moments, you're showing a progression of a character and making it interesting to watch. The introduction you did to this series was perfect, the animations were great and it really caught my attention. Can't find any critique at all. I don't think you need to do it for every video, but you should probably do it for the beginning of every SERIES because it acts as a great hook. I do think you can take a little time at the beginning of each to summarize the last video to bring people back up to speed (probably only need a sentence or two imo, like for the next one saying you killed a shitton of zombies and dug up some floors and stuff). Then you could talk about what your general goal for the video will be and why. That way, we're on the same page as you. Oh and don't be afraid to cut out time between videos, especially if it's to cut out some menial tasks (like digging up a bunch of worms, or digging up some floors (; ) as long as you tell us what you did between videos. Honestly though, from what I've seen from the beginning of your worst character ever series to this, I already see huge improvement in such a short time and that's great.

@@ambiguousamphibian Oh, and I had a feeling I've finally found the words for. You're clearly an experienced player, you can take down 1 or 2 zombies at a time with ease and the audience knows that. So when you're killing 1-2 zombies without any worries and there isn't any risk/tension, that could be a place where some editing could happen, like cutting/fastforwarding to the killing blows or cutting past it entirely. Of course, it's different when you get surprised or if there's 3+ zombies because that adds an element of tension, like maybe you'll get scratched or overwhelmed so we want to see that. Just something to keep in mind to try and see if it makes the video more fluid!

@@__--_--_----- This is thorough analysis! I'm incredibly grateful again - thanks for your thoughtful responsiveness :) Definitely with you on that - I'm glad to hear you say that about the highly edited content. This is definitely the type of content - an engaging narrative/commentary driven challenge type of video - I'm better at/more interested in creating. And indeed! I think that the timelapses at the beginnings of each video with progress might help there as I've been experimenting with. Perhaps I'll work a bit more with recaps as with a recent series. This is really excellent feedback and will help a lot with establishing a reliable workflow! Definitely not easy to be consistent and yet unexpected in a good way for viewers at all times, but always ready to do a quick workshop when you have feedback!

Small hint to get Planks: smash doors that are not essential, e.g. bathroom doors, inner doors. You could stop Zs following you on 1st floor walkway by deconstructing 1 tile of floor behind you. That way you could also build a base on 1st floor and deconstruct those tiles of walkway that lead to the base. You'd be perfectly save and wouldn't need to build another stair leading up and save a lot of planks, too.

that's what I like about your channel, you don't do boring survival play through like the majority of youtubers, all showing exactly the same stuff. You should really use your hammer in combat to kill zombies on the ground 1 or 2 hits is enough to kill one, don't worry so much about its durability, it won't break easily, you could kill at least 3 in 3 hits when they climb a window before they can get up. You better find a sledgehammer before helicopter is coming else I don't know how you gonna survive. Another idea to make killing zombies easier, build a fence on some of your paths so you make zombies climb them and can kill them faster when they're on the ground, like with windows

U know March Ridge also has like a lot of 2 story building's since they are stuck together & with the only tall building in the entire game that has 5 floor's.

Build window in house on second floor, put hole in floor in front of window, sheet rope to bottom floor, then all your taken houses are fortresses? Sledgehammer stairs when you find a sledge

Thanks Crossbow! Yeah, I've been trying to think through how a nomad style would work with challenge parameters. Something like living out of a car might be fun to try

Love the new play! Maybe you can block the stairs with furniture while getting your walk ways built?

Not sure how it would work but just an idea 😊

WTF? Did they somehow majorly nerf stomps the past couple weeks or something? Or are you just being inaccurate? It looks like _much_ of the time you're being accurate at the least, but when I was playing recently I would ALWAYS kill them in 1-2 stomps to the head (usually 1) as long as I wasn't missing their head. This would allow me to kill packs of zombies (4-12) by stomping their heads after they fall through windows like you mentioned in the video (although I've only done this a couple times when forced to, it's not something that I've abused, since it still seems dangerous and/or kind of hard to abuse anyway since there needs to be only 1 window to do it properly) edit: ooh it was probably because you were super tired, overheated, and panicked (or at least usually one or more of these)

I think once you get established this is going to turn out way easier than you think, because you'll always be able to deconstruct a bridge anywhere you want to completely cut off their access to you. I remember also from your mall playthrough that they're really dumb about just walking right off cliffs. Your biggest risk long term is probably going to be falling
@ambiguousamphibian4 жыл бұрын
Possibly! I remember the mall challenge started to become difficult in many sections as it was easy to move the problem, but difficult to eliminate, as zeds don't take falling damage AFAIK, and they would just climb back up. A large network and a sledgehammer may change this, though!
