To make the mob farm work, there is a weird mechanic in minecraft that lets light go through slabs, (Hence why mobs were only spawning during the night), so the roof of the farm has to be made of full blocks, with slabs ON TOP of those blocks. Hope this helps!

@@lemonwatchesyoutube2711 it needs to be 20 or more blocks high, so that mobs fall and die instantly. the height has nothing to do with its spawnrate (aside from the whole building being farther off the ground so that mobs spawn in the grinder and not in caves or on the ground)

for the mob farm you have to make it 60-70 blocks above the water because putting it js on top of water it still has caves underneath so the mobs barely spawn and it doesn’t matter if u make it out of wood or cobble 👍🏼👍🏼

You have to build the spawn farm up higher so theres not much area for mobs to spawn. You can also use slabs to stop mobs from spawning in your house, make sure the slab has that tiny pocket of air above it though.

The mob farm doesn't work because the roof is made of only slabs; that allows light to get into the farm. You can fix it by using a layer of blocks and second layer of slabs for the roof.

Mob farm fixes: After watching, I believe it was just your distance to the farm. I suggest making a creative copy of your world so you can go into creative and troubleshoot it In minecraft, if you are more than 32 blocks away from a mob, they cannot move. Your farm will not work if you are far away, but if you are standing at the base of this, it is not a problem. As I commented last time, they are dropping down onto water after walking over the trapdoors, right? Go inside the farm and use the F3 menu to tell what the light level is inside the farm, mobs cannot spawn if there is any light at all (it used to be light level 7 but since 1.18 it is light level 1). [super easy with creative backup] The farm you are using relies on mobs to pathfind over trapdoors and fall down. If you can use a creative backup, test different segisns, such as mob flushing farms using automatic dispensers to place and remove water to push mobs off. Using the f3 menu, make sure the biome the farm is is is not mushroom island or deep dark [this would be extremely wierd for it to happen but mobs cannot spawn in these biomes], also check the wiki of your mods to make sure mob spawning is allowed on player placed blocks such as wooden planks. Some mods disable this to keep mobs out of your house. Not a fix, but just funny: place trapdoors on the floor of your mob chute [the killing chamber] and with the slabs still being on the walls it will allow you to safely crit out any dwellers [you will be making a 0.3 block gap which not even the man from the fog can get through, but in his case he will break the blocks so it wont matter] Depending on what version of the mod you have, looking at the man from the fog has a very high chance of making him immediately dissapear, but also has a high chance to respawn somewhere else. Ignoring him guarentees a high chance of him rushing you if he is within range, or deciding to respawn closer to make this decision again. The reason he did neither when you looked at him is because you were too far away for him to accurately detect your angle. Make your bridge out of stone. While it is currently bugged and the man from the fog will be unable to break the blocks under you server side [yes, even in single player, your computer runs a server that you connect to] which means you will not be able to fall, the man from the fog will still create a ghost block effect on the wooden blocks under you, meaning it will appear you are floating on air. When this is patched, however, it will actually break the blocks both client side and server side, meaning you will fall into water and die. I have not gotten to this part of the video, but I saw the bridge thing with goatman in the intro. Make one side of that trapdoor trap one block farther away and 1 block up. What happened is goatman did fall but he caught himself on the opposing trapdoor because he can climb. Plus, you don't need to trap them you jus tneed to make it so they cannot get to you so its fine if they don't even try to walk off; make the other side of the bridge as far away as you want.
