@@micahbaker3376 perhaps it’s because you’re not attached to the show. S8 was probably the worst writing I’ve ever seen/heard in my life - apart from a 5 year old’s writing. There was no smooth transition in Dany’s transition to madness, Tyrion became dumb, Varys - the Master of Whispers - literally shouts his plans to the world, Jon only says 2/3 lines over and over, Sansa is made to become much smarter than she actually is, Arya apparently doesn’t trust people even if she hasn’t even met them, Jamie’s arc is destroyed with one line, Cersei only stands and watches while sipping wine, the Night King was killed in the worst way possible while the White Walkers apparently just stood around and did nothing, Drogon doesn’t even kill Jon after Jon kills Daenerys (And dragons have killed Targaryens and dragons before) and yet somehow understands metaphors, and Rhaegal is killed in what would be an impossible/pure luck way in real life (killing a flying, extremely armored animal by shooting at it with an indirect shot with a heavy contraption on a moving boat and somehow managing to hit it three times). There are probably tons more examples, but those are the main ones.

@@micahbaker3376 8th season was a perfect example of "Art is not about what you deliver, it is about how you deliver it". The first 7 seasons were based on the books but the RR Martin hadn't finished the book (still hasn't) that covered season 8. He simply told the producers what is going to happen and the producers wrote the entire 8th season. The biggest problem with the 8th season is how they ruined the build up. For 7 seasons, we kept hearing "winter is coming". This became the motto of game of thrones. And how did winter come? I really don't remember lol. It was that anticlimatic. They also butchered the character arcs. Tyrion is my favorite character in GOT. The genius dwarf who is known for his brilliant solutions and quotes. They made him look like an idiot on season 8. I have to be honest, I loved Hound's arc. His story was nicely wrapped up. However, every other character that I can think of right now, was terrible. Some of us were already expecting Daenerys to turn into the person she fought against all these years. At least I was pretty sure this was going to happen. However, the way they delivered this was simply awful. I felt absolutely nothing when John did that... thing (damn it's hard to keep this spoiler-free and I am pretty sure I already failed spectacularly).

It was fine just not great. For 7 Seasons they never rushed anything. Winder was coming for like 7 season it's over 1 one week. Things like that. Just rushed. It seems in Season 8 they were in a hurry to get to the end. Weird being GoT was at the time the biggest thing on HBO. You'd think they'd want to stretch it out forever really.
