wondered how to make a main menu in roblox studio? or how to create a shop which has working GUI? ive made lots of 2024 roblox scripting tutorials about all the different bits of roblox to give you some up-to-date information about all of its properties and events.
my goal is to simply give some insight on how to use the various features and instances roblox studio, and show you some fun stuff you can do with them. thanks for checking out this roblox scripting tutorial :)

Color shift was a pretty cool concept on its own and im glad to hear you bring it up in a video. i am glad to hear you might consider making a better/newer version of it (even if the like goal is unlikely) which reminds me, would you be fine if people made small spin offs or recreations of your existing games. cause i was interested in maybe making a longer version of Color Shift

As a Unity developer it absolutely pained me that he did different folders for the colors instead of local currentColor; for i, v in game.Workspace.Parts:GetChildren() do if v.color == currentColor then v.transparency = 1; v.collision = false; else v.transparency = 0; v.collision = true: end end Yes I know this is a strange mess of Lua and C# I have little Lua knowledge and lots of C# knowledge so this is what I came up with as a middle ground 💀

Remember, Roblox Studio is an independent game engine, it works differently to the basic lua. Thank you for trying to help out but Unity and Roblox Studio are on different universes.

I know it's been a month but I'd like to say that it's not really about what engine I use, I have used roblox studio before, it's more about the practicality, why have the color bricks be stored in folders when you can dynamically find the colored bricks in code and just set the color and be done with it. You can also modify the code to allow more leeway for different shades.

Just a suggestion but Don’t use R15 for obbies, the physics are clunky and don’t work well for obbies. It will also fix the layered clothing issue. R6 is the definitive avatar type for obbies, so just use R6.

Btw you can make the character and their accessories blue or green or what ever. you go to the accessories texture and remove it, then change the colour of the accessories handle to change its colour.

I am sorry to say this but, that is not the best system. By using remote events, you're allowing lag to more affect gameplay, and even with low pings it affects people. I would suggest using collision groups on client side, though I've only been doing lua for

If you don't want everyone to be the same character , Id say you could give the player like a small halo above their avatar which would display the color instead. Of course this requires just a bit more of code to make and unfortunately im not sure how you would do that , besides putting the mesh inside replicatedstorage and making a script so that the halo appears above players head.

@@RyanEXElol Mesh part is a part which you can add by clicking the + icon when you hover on workspace. Inside of the mesh part there's a property called "Mesh Id". If you know how to model , you can add your own mesh id by clicking the folder icon and choosing a FBX or OBJ file. However if you don't know how a mesh part works , i recommend just searching for a "Torus" in the toolbox and scalling it (if needed) and of course renaming it to whatever you want for better use.
